The last few seconds gives me goosebumps

How much would it suck to be that reaper from the end of the trailer?

All of the others would be like, "Aw man, did you guys see that city I blew up today? Hey Larry what did you destroy today?"

"Hey man that's just sick!"

"I don't even feel like I know you any more, this isn't the reaper I fell in love with!!"

My only real question is why is Shepard busy slaughtering husks instead of actually trying to stop the Reapers? "Hey, let's kill the infected humans and leave the cause of this alone. Because I love the mass slaughter of what was human!"

Take back Earth? Or Take Earth back? Which is it?

Is it really hard to make cinematic trailers - for games or movies - with an original tune? Or does your typical Inception mixed with whatever really sell that well?

Anyway, excited for this game, but not because of the Michael Bay-esque marketing so far.

The demo was pretty awesome. As long as there's not a whole lot of dumb computer children in this game, it's gonna rock.

I'm surprised there wasn't another tease for a super-extended Director's Cut bonus scene version of this trailer at the end of it.

I went back and played a bit of the first game just for shits and giggles.

Man, not a good idea. It feels extremely clunky after putting so many hours into the smooth gameplay of ME2.

Why is there a need for gameplay footage when they've released a demo? I'm sure they don't want to spoil the gameplay that's not in the demo just for a trailer.

I wish they'd use gameplay footage for trailers and just have Robot-Run Shepard awkwardly transitioning through animations and then making wierd faces at people during conversations. Love Bioware games but hate looking at them and these teasers feel dirty.

when i was a kid my mom once told me "chilfren don't die in movies" years later i saw enemy at the gates and what happend to sacha changed me i don't know why but it did this trailer really reminded me of that event

Dude, this trailer is soooo much better, I keep waiting for Bioware to release a trailer that has an emotional weight to it like this one did.. So disappointed

Everything else aside, I do want to point out that there's a greater reason for them doing the whole "oh no innocent children died, the earth is destroyed" thing here. The last two games take place nowhere near Earth. In fact, it may as well not exist as far as ME1 and ME2 are concerned and as such is completely disconnected to the player in the scheme of the overall events. The situation with Earth in ME3 and the trailers is to make that connection that this isn't something far away, but rather, something that will, can, and has struck home. The children are being utilized as a tool to display that this is a relentless and more importantly merciless "force" that is being dealt with, making it very clear the final message of it all. Rise up, or fall forever.

It makes sense in the context of the story though, so much of Mass Effect is about humanity's place in the galaxy and what you as the player have to do or not do to keep that place. You can't play as any other race, you're a human through the entire story, it makes sense that the climax of the trilogy would take place on earth, and I'm guessing that's not the only place you're gonna go during the game. They're using that for promotion because people know what earth is. Nobody would care if the tag line was "take back the citadel".

@Rastapasta: Of course the reapers are after an artifact on Earth. That artifact just happens to be named Commander Shepherd. They want to wipe out earth first, because humans (read Shepherd) scare the living piss out of them.

@Bourbon_Warrior: You couldn't visit Earth because the story didn't need you to. The space debris doesn't stop you from visiting, it just means that the use of kinetic barriers is recommended at high altitudes.

@DonChipotle: Also, Earth is kind of on the way to the Citadel from where the Reapers enter the galaxy (based on the Arrival DLC).

The Reapers are starting their invasion on Earth because Shepard, the only person awesome enough to be seen as a threat to the Reapers, is a human. The human home world is Earth. Hence they start with the humans and their home world of Earth.

If I am forced to have Ashley in my crew for this final mission then I am going to have to turn on the option to keep party member helmets on at all times since that hair is RIDICULOUS looking.

Great Trailer, I remember in 1 you could visit earth because of massive amounts of space junk orbiting the planet, wonder if they will adress that.
