It's being released 10 or so years after the original in order to cash in on the success of Tim Burtons Version of Alice and its being published by EA, one of the largest publishers on the world, and a company that don't do niche games liable to alienate large market segments. 

If I were 15, and way into Marvel comics and heavy metal, I might find this trailer compelling. Speaking on a concept level, of course - if it has extremely compelling gameplay, or a well-written story that somehow 
justifies it's arguably juvenile concept, then I might be on-board. From such a brief trailer, it's impossible to say, really.

I remember criticizing Dante's Inferno for the same EXACT thing last year and people told me how great that game was gonna be. Those same people never messaged me to tell me how right I was after the game was released. Even if this game ends up good as far as game mechanics go....you SHOULDN'T mess with classic literature like this.

Aahhh yes finally my excitement is unmeasurable. I loved the first American McGee´s Alice for it's voice acting, story telling and the look of the charters. I hope this one repairs the damage Tim Burton did to Alice world not a bad movie but damn did it suck for me.

The first game was okay. It was remembered more for it's look than anything else. 

Screw the critique American McGee's was awesome despite it's clunkiness. So getting this.

Everyone seems a little excited here which scares me because American McGee's track record is not a good one Scrapland, Bad day LA and Grimm. Ok i dont hate Scrapland i just dont like it but still Alice is his best work.

Big fan of American McGee´s Alice. This should look promising for everyone that loved that game!

tim burton made me bitter about alice in wonderland

Not to be a downer, but outside the atmosphere, the first game was an incredibly linear and relatively tedious third person shooter which is kind of ironic given the supposedly absurd and twisted picture it tried to paint.  Nothing says twisted and imaginative then a nine hour corridor crawl.

I liked the first game but man McGee's track record since does not give me much hope for this one.  Here is hoping he pulls a rabbit out of his hat.
