OO!

Vertical stand?!

Also, I think more systems should have manual ways to open them. I hate not being able to get the game out if the thing breaks, or the power goes out.

Caught a glimpse of Ryan's monitor, and he is playing XCOM right now! Super freaking jealous.

George Foreman Approved

Yes...is the foreman ps3 !!!

Posted by SlashDance

I would pay a lot of money for that Walking Dead "painting".

I just rotated the logo on my PS2 for the first time...MIND HAS BEEN BLOWN!!

Posted by HerbieBug

I assume the usb charging cable is still like two feet in length? :p

Posted by TehJedicake

I actually sort of like it.

Posted by Seroth

I'm totally with Brad. Being able to take out discs without having to turn the system on is pretty darn cool.

Super Slim PS3: Hyper Fighting.

Posted by Ramone

I, like I hope a lot of other people did, just turned my PS3 logo 90 degrees.

Posted by teh_destroyer

Keep on waving Ryan.

Posted by NTM

If you put it up vertically, the opening slides down gradually instead of the more abrupt opening as it sits horizontally.

Posted by Roger_Klotz

I'm with Patrick. I don't like how it looks.

Looks like Ryan has a Nissan Intellikey

Edited by SaturdayNightSpecials

I totally don't get all the derision of the drive. I think it's cool.

Yeah, I'm sure it will break, but it's neat.

Posted by Ghost_Cat

What is that painting on the ground to the side of Ryan?

Posted by steelerzfan101

Man, that is one small machine! I am liking the slick design though!

Did it on my PS3 fat just now. Strange voodoo.

God damn you Brad, and your god damned hands on the back of your goddamn neck. Why can't I be as cool as you? :(

Posted by ZombiePirate

What kind of Keyboard is Ryan using? I'm in the market for a new one lol

Really gross design, the first slim isn't great either. They got it right with the PS2 slim though.

Thinking about it, top loading is actually a bummer :|

Edited by Cyrisaurus

It's not the best looking, but if you waited this long to get a PS3, it shouldn't matter.

Posted by nickux

The top-loading is surprisingly inelegant for Sony, especially compared to previous slot-loading models of PS3. However, I don't think it's the worst thing ever. If they were going to do the top-loading drive, I wish they'd just made the entire top smooth.

I loved the little rotating PS logo on their consoles. It's completely unnecessary, but I still appreciate the intricate attention to detail; even if over half of their owners never even realized you could do it.

I do agree that this version does look a little cheap. Regular PS3's have that sharp, glossy plastic that make it look "premium", while the flat plastic on this version just makes it look like a child's toy. Still, top loading is pretty nice. I always have that same fear of the electronic disc loader not working (which is a common thing that breaks).

The Walking Dead Lee and Clementine portrait. Amazing. Oh hey, and a tinier PS3.

I was hoping they would demo that.

Being able to take discs out without the power on is nice but I never have liked the idea of an exposed laser lens. Also it looks kinda ugly IMO.

Posted by Erin25

I don't know what jeff means about it being harder to fit in an entertainment center. its just as easy to put a disc in the top of it as the side, as this is shorter and the top doesn't pop out.

The box would have been opened faster if he used a bat.......

Posted by PLWolf

I Like it! But I just got a Slim earlier this year, so I'm good.

Posted by HarlequinRiot

Looks fine, but Sony has never really made a good looking console. The Slim is the best they've done, in my opinion.

Posted by TheHT

My slim's disc drive doesn't read dual layer discs anymore and is starting to have trouble with single layer discs. Since the warranty's up, I'm thinking of getting one of these. But I'll wait until the next E3 before dropping 200 on a new PS3 especially when PS+ has given me a crapload of digital games to play.

I'm amazed by how many people didn't know about the logo turn.

Edited by Lurkero

I don't usually watch unboxings, but for Giantbomb I can make an exception.

Why is it still not FLAT!? This design is so unappealing.

I do, however, like the manual loader. It gives the same satisfying click as buttons. Sony loses points for the indentation and the ridges on the top.

They got rid of the glossy black with the first ps3 slim. Which was fine by me cause it was a dust an finger print magnet.

Might grab one during Black Friday if it's cheap enough. Looking for a slim/super slim this year because my launch fat ps3 needs to be replaced ASAP. As for how it looks, i think it looks fine. I am not a fan of any of the PS3 designs, they are just acceptable.

Posted by ajamafalous

I'm slightly angry that people didn't know about the rotating logo

Posted by LiquidPrince

You guys need to get a better in office camera!

Posted by Ixaan

The top loading is nice for getting games out without turning it on, but I wont be completely sold on it until they add a bolt-action locking mechanism. I want to be able to pop the old game out and reload it in one fluid motion.

Posted by shades846

still they cheap out without a free hdmi cable(cost like $3) and no N class wireless

Posted by csl316

Still with the cables, boo.

pretty happy I got my PS3 when I did now. I like the previous version better. Not a fan at all of top loading drives.
