I'm more interested in the Walking Dead painting in the background!!

Rotating logo.. yeah the slim (first one) doesn't seem to have that, since it's painted on, it does look a fair bit smaller then most of the pictures of it it'd seen so far would have you believe, but i do like not having to really touch my ps3 to get games in/out, and honestly if it dies with a game inside, it can probably be opend.

Goodness me, how could you not know about rotating PS symbols?

It's pretty sad they still don't supply an HDMI as there are so many people out there who don't know the difference between HD and standard definition.

I just noticed that this new PS3 (with UC3 no less) is cheaper than what I paid for my Vita w/ memory card. God damn it.

Looks kinda cool but also cheap. Seems a little weird where the Xbox redesign looks flashier than the original but the PS3 ones look cheaper. That's the way Sony has done it for years I suppose and the Sony redesigns actually feel like proper redesigns.

Also, I think more systems should have manual ways to open them. I hate not being able to get the game out if the thing breaks, or the power goes out.

Yeah, I can't believe people complain over the new disc tray when it makes rescuing your discs without breaking your playstation that much easier.

It's weird that I prefer the look of my glossy slim xbox 360 to my matte finish PS3 slim. If my ps3 failed I would not replace it with the new one. I'd wait for the PS4. Hopefully, they are compatible with each other.

Looks cheap. I have the last version of the regular Slim that I bought this spring and I like that so I don't care either way. it is much more silent than my 360S.

Agreed. The Original Slim is hands down the best if not for the fact that Fat models had PS2 compatibility. Even then I'm still glad I have an original slim.

I will probably upgrade to this model, the slimmer design and of course the quiet, more efficient fans, make this a easy purchase for me. I still have the original 60GB Chrome PS3 with all the bells and whistles.

The selling point for me is obviously the noise, I love using my PS3 as a Blu-Ray player, but I hate when I'm watching movies and the fans will actually drown out the sound from my movie.

Man, I hope the PS4 will have a turning PS logo.

The first generation giganto Playstation 3 was pretty nice looking with those slick touch buttons, silver finish and Spiderman font. It was enormous though. The matte PS3 slim always looked really lackluster and void of any aesthetically pleasing touches - it literally looks like someone said "this thing is costing us way too much, lower the production costs" and a bunch of engineers did just that without letting any designers into the room. This new second generation Slim at least has some sort of finishes on it. I like the top loading, although not sure if you guys have bothered to plug it in at all but it seems like not having an internally hidden optical disc drive would increase the noise.

I demand more hot PS3 stand coverage.

I am such a sucker for new hardware. I feel like I must have this, and yet I have no reason for having this. I do like my ultra-quiet slim. I wonder how quiet this one was with that seemingly more exposed drive on top (or side, if you stand it upright as the universe intends).

No stand, no rotating logo and no different colors means no purchase.

I'd like to get one of these to replace my noisy-ass old fat PS3, but I wish they'd just release a non-bundle SKU; I've already got UC3 and I'll be buying AC3 on 360. Maybe I'll just hold off for that $199 price point.

Ah, but did you get your slim after one of the die-shrinks? After they cut 1/3 power they cut it again. After that they cut it down once more but also removed a few indicator LEDs. There is a best model of PS3 in there somewhere.

Hmmm that does look mighty cheap! I'll stick with my beast 60GB original! All my USB's like a king!

Only 2 usb ports is still kind of a joke. The 360s now have 5, the least sony could have done is put one on the back so my PS eye isn't reaching to the front. Also I really hated when the psp went to the cheap manual opening for the UMDS, I feel the same way with this drive. I'm actually kinda happy I still have a old 80 GB PS3. I didn't like the first slim either, the buttons triggered the same, this is cheap feeling.

Agreed, there is nothing more aggravating then your system breaking AND your game being trapped inside.

When they get the vertical stand, I demand a video showing how it stands... up.

First time I noticed that Walking Dead portrait behind Patrick's desk... Nice.

Looks nice. My only worry is the disc lid failing and being stuck open. Agreed with Patrick on $199 would be the magic bullet to make this revision perfect.
