Hide In Plain Sight in Hitman: Absolution

I'd think twice before giving Agent 47 a parking ticket.

Is it just me, or is 47 rocking some massive eyebrows?

Game looks amazing, the animations seem really fluid.

That is one fantastic gameplay video. Blood Money was just excellent, this looks to continue the trend. The helicopter looks absolutely photo-real around the ten minute mark. Freaking gorgeous game.

Yep. Very Batmannish. As has been mentioned, though, Agent 47 doesn't have any justifiable conceit for a Detective Vision, which makes that whole thing pretty weird.

I don't get Why People are allready complaining about the alternate Visionmode. Just because batman:aa screwed up somewhat with the detective vision doesnt mean that such features "suck" and we don't need them.

It's always about the way such features are implemented into the gamplay and gamedesign and not just about "herp derp vision mode easy mode".

Tbh it's kinda disrespectful torwards The developers if you already want a way to disable the vision. For all you know the vision could be a requirement for all kinds of challenges inside the game.

They also gave an explanation for the vision mode one that works for me: the vision mode represents agent 47 decades of experience as an assassin and as such he has evolved somewhat like a sixth sense for these things. Might not be the best but it still works in the context.

There is a conceit for the vision mode and a great reason to have it there. If you think about 47 he has years and years of experience doing what he does. The problem with that is when a user steps back into his shoes or starts off the series fresh he is a bumbling idiot who can't do anything right. So they made the character more adaptable by including this new view mode.

That view is 47's INSTINCT, reading people and knowing where they are going (the path on the ground). Listening to them and remembering where they last were allowing him to best estimate their position even on the other side of a wall. That's a mechanic that they can play with in a million ways to increase both challenge and fun. I'd guess later levels will have those figures on the other side of the walls be less accurate and the paths enemies take being varied so it's more on you to figure out which branch is the right one this time around.

People like myself and other long runners in the franchise will most likely never use the feature and it's fine that way. This is solely meant to keep 47 a ruthlessly efficient killer no matter who is at the controls.

There is no way that this game can be as awesome as that trailer was. That seemed like some very real AI- unless it was all scripted...

Just goes to show, losing your shit over announcements and rumours before a game is actually shown is silly. This looks exactly like Hitman and goddamn awesome.

It looks interesting. But, very Batman and Sam Fisher. It reminds me alot of Splinter Cell Conviction, along with the 'Tec Vision mode with...flames?

Still wait and see, for me. But, I'm hopeful. Even with the controversy over how the Bateson was kicked out the door.

Where are you getting the information that it's based on his instincts? Also you go on to detail that it's based on his experience then switch to instincts, so which is it?

People who have been fans and following the series through understandably will find this new mechanic jarring and out of place, but I agree in how it will make the series more accessible. For me personally I just rather not use it at all, it seems out of place and I appreciate the challenge of playing it safe and not putting myself in a situation where I would have to rely on that ability.

@on3moresoul:I love the Hitman series to death(incase you wondered) and I didn't like the idea at first but seeing this made me realize that without it this would be the hardest Hitman game to date. They never had that many enemies hunt you down all at once before. But they've already said that on higher difficulties that you can't use it.

That is one hilarious version of Chicago. I don't know who ever had a building with a front door to an El station. Also, it's pouring and there are no umbrellas. Lastly, I've NEVER seen a platform that full in my entire life. People would be murdering each other.

Heh, yeah, I noticed that too. Still, they nailed the look of the platform, which I found exciting after my city has been passed over for NYC and LA so often. The platform looks a little like Addison right before or after a Cubs game, though obviously this ain't Wrigleyville. Weird. The hippy pad made this seem like a period piece, but the tech did not. Also, what's with the humble english elevator man? Got my interest peaked, though.

Looks good, but I really hate that it's starting to look like every other stealth action game on the market. Getting a real Batman/Conviction vibe off of this demo. I hope that's not the case.
