How to Make a TNT

@vinny, I just discovered this and it is fantastic. I would love to see a breakdown of how you handle livestreams in the New York office now, because you're clearly way more constrained (but it works super well).

Make Alex do some heavy lifting. He's got arms, make him hold a camera. No monopod for him.

This would of come in handy today!

Really awesome. I've been meaning to watch this for a while. I would love to see more behind the scenes of your productions when/if you have the chance.

Did Vinny and Drew figure all this stuff out through years of trial and error or is it based off of another video recording/streaming set up they had prior knowledge of?

For me who wants to get into live studio TV. I always wondered how they had their set up. This is the most interesting video on the site for me.

@Vinny I'm not sure if it's been fixed as I haven't been able to watch many live streams due to a busy semester, but I do know for a fact the audio problems with the steam is not your fault. The problem is with the actual volume on the player because they player would say the volume is at max when it is actually only half way. That's definitely the source of people complaining about a lack of volume during streams.

It may be fixed with the new site. I'm not exactly sure.

The volume thing was I think from twitch tv their player had an issue in embedding where if you didn't move the volume slider the sound would be really low.

Drew is such a boss holding that camera up for an hour his hands didn't have any circulation by the end.

This was awesome! I wanted to know why stuff gets out of sync and why the only to fix it is to restart the stream, is it because that's a problem with twitch? or do they have to restart the tricaster?

It'd be great to see one of the 'how to make a..." for the bombcast. I have no idea how you can make a 3 hour podcast without making life hell in post.

Oh man, serious gear envy after seeing y'all's whole setup. I think I do alright juggling TV and receiver inputs, but I could improve it a bunch; USB over Ethernet seems like magic, and probably a good way of cleaning up a lot of my cable mess. I wonder if it ever breaks, and what else you could send down it with a dongle.

Regardless, I will voraciously consume any and all production-related content you can put out; I'd love to see a sequel focusing on the Folsom or the Quick Look room.

A decent Behringer mix? I didn't think those exist! I've been burnt so many times by their 6 and 8 channel mixers.

@Vinny@drewbert I know this is extremely late, but I only got around to watching this today. This might be one of the best features you guys have ever done. I don't usually call out the staff with these tags, but I wanted to thank you guys directly for taking the time to shoot it and to archive it. You both do a heck of a job, and you have much more technical know-how than I think you'd like to admit --- if this video was any indication, anyway. Keep up the good work.
