Come with me if you want to live... lol jk, I'mma stab you in the FACE.

That is one messed up image.

EDIT: "We would have made the killing realistic, but it wasn't brutal enough."

Yeah, video games are still being made for eleven year-olds. I'm holding out hope for the Stanley Kubrick of video games to arrive.

Posted by weegieanawrench

Shhh, you get banned for saying that here.

Posted by Finscher

I've suddenly noticed that most of these enemies carry their rifles with bayonets pointing upwards.

Air assassinations seem like a really bad idea for this time period.

Posted by PeasantAbuse

Whoa, that's a bear.

Posted by metalsnakezero

Uh uh uh uh uh! Glad to see he still has dual hidden blades.

Posted by Sooty

Waiting for this to be bargain bin price, you just know it's going to have the same crappy combat.

Posted by Shortbreadtom

Everyone seems really excited about this, but I think people are forgetting the part where you hit parry, parry, parry, hit and then watch some animation.

Posted by Clonedzero

super excited for this game.

but MAN, that preorder exclusive content spam at the end of the video was like soul crushing. screw preorders. gets on my nerves

Posted by Tom_Shaw

"UH. UH. UH."

Bravo Alex, Bravo.

Posted by Porkellain

as an italian, hurts me to admit that connor will probably be a more awesome character than ezio was. still, not really convinced by the naval fights

Posted by Rincewind

This video is just a british snuff film interspersed with random 3 second clips of people talking.

Posted by HerbieBug

"one of the most anticipated titles in gaming history"

Okay, Ubisoft. That'll do. You drink your juice and you settle down now.

Posted by AiurFlux

Holy. Shit. I gotta go pre-order this. And I never pre-order ANYTHING. Ever. I think the big addition that they're throwing around, the naval combat, is going to be the worst part of the game. What I saw at E3 looked pretty terribad, with a Fourth Rate Ship of the Line getting blown up in 2 volleys, but what I saw here actually gets me wanting it.

why are there 3 developers for 3 different games today, is the PR like "on Thursday websites have the optimal amount of visitors that we require so we should put out videos of our games" or is Alex just on a uploading rampage?

This game as too much P.R., I am already getting burned-out on it and it’s not even out.

Posted by CptBedlam

I hope they at least try to give an explanation for why his enemies don't just shoot Connor.

Posted by Dad_Is_A_Zombie

Still not feeling this setting.

Posted by Rejizzle

This looks like the best Assassin's creed yet, although I wish that "ninja tank with a wolverine in it" was literal.

"Whenever he sees conflicts between the two groups; he takes the side of the greater good."

Cuts to Conner killing more British soldiers.

Posted by GenocidalKitten

I feel like it's going to turn out that the Americans are templars.

Posted by MrBen

Way too much America in this video

Posted by Callik

No really guys, he's fighting the Templars, there are just all these squishy redcoat fodder in the way.

I get this is a tonal shift from the European setting but it seems this couldn't be more America Fuck Yeah unless Washington had an eagle on one shoulder and the Colonial flag draped over the over.

Posted by Cyrisaurus

Wow, if they took the same amount of dev time for the other AC games, imagine how better they could have been, and what AC III would have been.

This game looks top notch, and the combat seems sooooo satisfying.

And yet, there's also parts where he's standing side by side with red coats.

Yeah, that does make me nervous for the final product, fingers crossed it's just to build up interest in the American market?

I think the founding fathers are incredible (especially Washington), but if this game has a straight 'America Fuck Yeah' tone to it, it'll ignore the interesting quirks of the conflict, like how these relatively wealthy guys with egalitarian ideals wanted to create a republic while still owning slaves etc. Maybe I'm hoping for too much, but I'd love to see the game do that fascinating period of history justice by taking advantage of the varied motivations and interests behind the revolution. 'Nothing is real. Everything is permitted.' etc

DWAMMMNNN!!! This looks awesome. I was kind of left cold by Revelations, but I'm getting really excited about this.

Posted by MeatSim

This developer diary should just be the developers saying UH UH UH while making stabbing motions.

Posted by Alphazero

Connor, fleet footed man-killer.

They've been working on this game for 3 years, so I have no worries.

Edited by studnoth1n

@Dad_Is_A_Zombie: absolutely, and you probably won't. one of the more interesting aspects of the game was how the series would introduce rich and intricate cultures, landscapes, architecture and essentially cut you loose. here it's essentially the origin of a country, an austere landscape with no interesting backdrop, save for except the more european looking towns (i.e. boston).

Bears, did you hear that? Now you're putting the whole office in jeopardy!

So It's okay to kill Italians* but when it comes to British is a no-no what?

* No Italians were harmed during AC2

Posted by WiredFolf

@CptBedlam: Well the guns of that period weren't very equipped for fast fluid fights. Combined with having a lengthy and complex reload time after every shot plus the fact they weren't very accurate to begin with and it's not hard to see them being somewhat useless in the broader scope of things.

Posted by SatelliteOfLove

"Conner" is that Algonquin or Iriquois?

Uhh yeah... that's my point. If they spent 3 years on the other games they would have been this good by now.

Edited by Javes

If only this series' combat wasn't so mind-numbingly easy.

Edited by Roger778

Man, I did a pre-order on this game last month, and I am so happy that I did. This game looks awesome, and what's really exciting is that Connor looks to be a real bad-ass!

I've got one more month before I can get my reserved copy..

Posted by eatatwhiteys

Hmmm that vid grab looks a little suspect to me......

Posted by Vague_Optimism

I wonder how this game would fly in the U.K.?

I wonder how well a Vietnam game where you play as the north would fly in the U.S.?

Italians killing Italians is probably okay. American guy slaughtering Brits and only Brits (or vice versa, of course) is probably not.

I'm not opposed to a game where a guy plays a pivotal role in a historical conflict, but if the countries involved are now allies, you shouldn't really rub their noses in the whole "we killed a bunch of your dudes" thing. These trailers are not really discouraging that impression.

Edited by Maurdakar

Sure looks like their sidestepping the whole. Native American Genocide thing.

Pity. Seems like a lazy, offensive way to sidestep an otherwise interesting plot point of him overcoming hate of his own / torn allegiances. But I guess there was no portrayal of racism in the other settings, so why not "white wash" this as well.

Wouldn't have been as romantic.

Posted by Bourbon_Warrior

This game looks so fucking sweet. I always look forward to the settings of the AC games more than the actual game.

As a Brit by nationality (born in Aus) I'm totally okay with fighting the British, but then maybe that's my pro-Australian republic side talking.
