I hope they turn this into a full game, love the look of this. Stream was great too, lots of awkward bad jokes: Sausage factory, am I right? *Fistbumb denied*

So, a Quick Look EX then?

Posted by buhssuht

oh man, i didn't even know this was live yesterday. Thanks for achieving the video guys.

I need to know what I can do the ensure this becomes a full retail game

Posted by Veektarius

A Western Monster Hunter is a great idea. You'll need to preserve a few more of the elements than were showcased in the stream though, e.g. character development and crafting.

This game doesn't really say "monster hunter" to me. It says small scale Vindictus minus the forced mmo nonsense and more encouraged co op.

this looked super promising.

MOAR LIKE DOUBLE MINE

Posted by Xeirus

This game looks really great, you can really see the promise.

Please make this, please!

I love Dark Souls but I don't really want to play this. I really dislike that stop motion animation style.

Posted by Marokai

I have never played Monster Hunter, but I've always admired it from afar, and although this looks incredibly promising in it's own way (with a great art style), positioning this as some sort of Monster Hunter competitor or substitute I think is unfortunate, and I'm dreading the amount of people who will forego actually playing the real thing in favor or a "Westernized" (aka, simplified, love it or hate it) version of it like Brazen.

I really like Double Fine, I think they're creative dudes and really respect what they do, but it would be a shame if their smaller scale and simplified versions of greater concepts (It's like Monster Hunter, but smaller, more goofy, and simpler! It's like Dwarf Fortress, but sci-fi!) led to people ignoring the original articles.

Yeah, I can get behind this. Also, Beerzerker is amazing.

I would play a full version

Ah, I always love when Brad visits the office.

That turtle monster animation is still amazing.

Brad is the happiest dude in the world, I swear.

Posted by Tesla

I love the style. This looks promising despite being in the early stages of development. Good stuff!

Posted by Jayzilla

The Beerzerker is an awesome name for a class.

Posted by Brake

I would totally be into an accessible Monster Hunter-esque game. Let Brad make this game, people-who-decide-this-stuff!

Posted by MysteriousBob

As someone who has actually played Monster Hunter let me just say- it'd be hard to make a game thats worse than Monster Hunter. Japan is friggin' crazy.

Axebow is the best bow.

Posted by jbuchan76

Man they should have had Vinny playing this with Brad Muir.

Posted by nywt

This game looks great! Give it a kickstarter and it would be funded for sure!

Posted by mrsmiley

freaking love the claymation animation look for the monsters! man, never something i would have ever thought to do with a game like this. that's so awesome.

Posted by EngineNo9

Dragon's Dogma kind of already did a similar thing of taking the idea of Monster Hunter and wrapping it in a more appealing package for western audiences. I enjoyed DD much more than I expected to once I got into it.

Posted by Mister_V

This looks great. I really really want this to get made.

Lol. Western-made Monster Hunter? The Fuck?

Posted by Shortbreadtom

I love how it looks like old movie animations, with stop motion superimposed on real people.

Posted by fuzzypumpkin

Worst headline ever.....I love it.

Monster Hunter Tri with Pro controller is perfect, you also get used to the camera turning and how the game works. That game alone was worth getting a Wii for in my opinion.

Brad is so awesome

That's a fine opinion but the problem with it is that not everyone can get into those original games. I can say from personal experience having tried to get into Monster Hunter on multiple occasions and having failed 3 times that a more accesible version is a good thing as it acts as a gateway to the more esoteric version of those games. As right now I'm playing Ragnarok Odyssey and I kind of want to give regular Monster Hunter a try again. More games in the same genre is never a bad thing as more competition breeds innovation. That and a MoHun game with a sense of humor I can get behind that.

I totally didn't expect Ryan to throw out the Souls series in such a positive manner. Glad to see his time with the game during whatever live stream that was paid off.

Posted by GERALTITUDE

This looks super. I'd buy it.

Posted by Deusx

I love how most of the Giant Bomb staff and demographic know nothing about games like these.

Posted by Panpipe

Make. This. Game.

Posted by Crunchman

I was captivated by Monster Hunter since before the first one shipped in Japan. What Brazen (Brazzers) is demonstrating is a potentially more interesting dynamic between players/roles, which would be a really meaningful expansion on this formula. It shows so much potential, I don't envy those who'd have to decide which directions to take it.

Also, I got into one of the games! (I was Ocelot, playing as the Waracle, the archer class).

Posted by HatKing

I shouldn't watch this.

Because I'll only be disappointed when I find out how long I'll have to wait to play it.

I love everything about the concept for this game. Ray Harryhausen visual influence (complete with stuttery monsters)? YES. Organic difficulty that rewards the player for trying more difficult tactics. YES. Co-op monster beat-ups that allow for a wide variety of tactics? YES.

Just make it already.
