Ya know what? Totally glad I didn't wait like 3 hours in line at PAX, and just watched it now, a couple months later. The trailer's awesome, I just mean that almost nothing is worth that 3 hour line.

I was thinking the exact same thing, without the goofy sideways leg prop it isn't worth it.

@leebmx: I know that parts of it were supposed to be DLC for Saints Row The Third, but the core development team never worked on that stuff right? Meaning they had time to work on the actual successor.

Either way, it's mostly presumptions. I guess we'll have to wait and see how it turns out.

I don't know - its called Steelport so I would guess so, and a lot of stuff in the trailer looks very similar. All the fonts and UI for example which just makes it seem like it is using tons of assets from the previous game. They may put in new bits of the city, but they have only had a year and a half's development time from the SR3 and they have explicitly said this was originally supposed to be DLC. I'm sure it will be fun and funny but I don't think they should be calling it SR4.

Dubstep gun looks like a fun gimmick, but I feel, like 90% of dubstep, its going to get old fast, and I am going to end up playing this game with the volume down.

Is it the exact same city like Crackdown 2? Or has it just the same name, but redone infrastructure and stuff like that? Because the exact same city is indeed a bit... meh.

I don't know man, that superpower practically eliminates the use of cars. Still optimistic about this though.

It's Crackdown 2013! I am stoked for this, but as in Crackdown, once you get the ability to run or jump anywhere you want, driving becomes a chore. I hope Volition has done something to rectify that. I really liked collecting cars, driving the various vehicles and just speeding through Steelport racking up "near miss" XP in SR3.

and me unfortunately. It looks fun but same city? Boooo. This all looks like some Crackdown 2 type deal. I'm sure there will be some funny stuff in this game and it will be cool to arse around in but it really looks like what it is. DLC turned into a full game. This is extra bad because in my opinion the world of Steelport was boring enough in SR3. Having to play through it again, even with added alien whatevers is a bit of a downer.

The superspeed and flying stuff looks so damn cool, but I don't think my computer will be able to handle it without breaking down to single frames when traversing so much space like that... Looks like I'm gonna wait this one out until I get a better computer to play it.

These guys sure know how to make a crazy game.

That dubstep gun did not disappoint holy balls. I wonder if the superpowers will make vehicles less useful but whatever looks amazing.

I liked Saints Row 3 a whole bunch, but thought Jeff hyped it up way too much. I preferred the second, really. I thought it got the tone just right. This seems like the logical progression for the series to go in, but it looks like someone made a mod for SR3. I'll pass.

I guess this will be the first Saints Row, I'm gonna buy day 1.

Everything looks like they now finally know where to position themeselves between other open world games. Less plot-focused than GTA and grabbing players that are disappointed with the state of their franchises (namely: NFS Hot Persuit and Underground, APB, Prototype, Spider-Man, Just Cause) and give them a big sandbox and all the toys they dream about plus actually fun humor that is also their means of avoiding any clever explanations of why all the toys are in there.

I'm getting a real "Destroy All Humans" vibe from some of the weapons and powers.

I've never really been a big fan of SR but I have to say, that looks pretty awesome.

SR3 + more craziness.

I love how they merged aspects from DC Universe Online and Prototype for the superpowers in this game. I enjoyed both of the other games and I tried to enjoy SR3, but I simply was not feeling it in the long run. Now with the superpower-addition a huge comic book nerd like me, myself and I should feel pretty damn good in Saints Row 4 :-) Day 1 for me.

Looks pretty hilarious and a lot like Saints Row the Third. I still need to finish that game.

Those superpowers will chunk up the framerate something rotten on the consoles.

This is pretty much how I've felt since SR3. So many releases are so excruciatingly self-serious and/or poorly written that I'm more interested in games that just try their damnedest to be fun. Seeing how they're games and all.

Considering how cynical and tired of everything most gamers seem to be, I'm surprised there aren't more games that at least attempt to let loose.

Alright, I'm not so worried about this game after seeing this trailer. Kind of a shame that it looks exactly like SR3.

Am I weird because I no longer really want super serious games all the time? But I'd rather have a dose of this sort of crazy of 6 months or so?

My money flew out of my wallet when that Mech started doing "The Robot".

I feel like, for some, this demo should have ended showing off the Dub step gun. That said, I welcome more Saints Row into my body.

Well, I guess I'm "the worst person" because the more I see of this game, the less I like it. I was going to pre-order, but now I think I'll wait for it to hit twenty bucks.

I enjoy wackiness, but SR2 had wackiness and still managed to also have compelling missions, a very huge map with all sorts of cool secrets, and lots of stuff to do. I'm glad that Volition is bringing back some more of the customization elements that they dropped between SR2 and SRTT (and some new customization elements, like the gun customization, are great ideas).

However, in SRTT Steelport basically sucked as a sandbox, and now we are getting...more Steelport, not expanded at all like Stilwater was between SR and SR2, and with aliens and goofy guns. Guys, I like goofy guns. I like them a lot. However, I did not get into SR for goofy guns. I got into it for '90s-era gangster movie action with a little bit of over-the-top violence and hypersexuality.

I would also hope that Volition picks up on some of the interesting dangling plot possibilities (When can I finally kill Dex? If Killbane getting away is canon, when does he show up again to get his revenge), as those are far more interesting than "fight aliens with superpowers in this Crackdown knockoff" as a focus.

All I wanted when I got into the saints row franchise was a game about street gangs that knew how to stick its tongue out a little more than GTA4. Saints row 2 delivered that in spades and I gave it my heart. Saints row isn't about gangs anymore and its tongue is sticking so far out it could lick a hooker from across a football stadium. This wasn't what I asked for. :/

Edit: I guess the best way of putting it would be, saints row 2 was the san andreas sequel the houser brothers didn't give me, while 3 and 4 appear to have completely gone off the rails. At least the houser brothers seem to have learned from their mistakes and are bringing GTA back around with 5.
