I'm watching but I'm still not seeing any dogs. What gives?

Edited by Pokalapoketl

On new-gen systems the game will run at 900p on PS4 and 792p on Xbox One, at 30 frames-per-second on both consoles.

This game is either going to be really good, or an utter failure.

Posted by EthanielRain

I really don't want to buy this, but I doubt I'll be able to control myself.

Posted by Ghost_Cat

That is some ruuuuuuf-looking frame rates.

Posted by Jensonb

Are we still holding out a vain hope that this game is anything other than stunningly mediocre?

Posted by Dryker

OK, OK, I'm excited again.

Looks like a lot of DLC is going to be these "in-game apps", but to be fair, they seem to be including quite a few significant ones. I have to say, digital coins and ghosts in lines throughout a sprawling open-world game is kind of appealing. AND there's user-generated content.

Not gonna watch anything. Already preordered.

Edited by heatDrive88

Incredible, indeed. I don't even want to know what the marketing budget was behind this game, but I sure as hell will be laughing if this game doesn't live up to the expectations that it is even remotely trying to advertise.

The frame rate is looking a tad rough. It looked the worst during the multiplayer though.

Yeah, quite a bit. Looks like plenty of fun, sorry.

What does "stunningly mediocre" even mean?

Posted by j0lter

@pokalapoketl: Sigh... I was expecting full 1080p with 60fps for all these stupid delays. I'm really peeved about the developers not really utilizing the power behind these new consoles. Really kicking myself for buying a PS4 early now, since all the games are released on previous gen and look the same anyways. When the best looking games are ports from previous gen like Battlefield 4, there's something wrong.

Posted by Jensonb

@bbk: What? It means, roughly, notable only for a lack of notability. You've never seen that phrase before?

Edited by Corevi

Got it free with a new graphics card so kinda pumped for this to test it out.

What the fuck is 792p or 900p? Why don't they just write out the resolution instead of weird number with a p at the end. I hope the PC version is somewhat optimized. Assassin's Creed 4 was kinda rough on PC.

Edited by cloudnineboya

what like this " NINE HUNDRED PEE and SEVEN HUNDRED and NINETY TWO PEE".

Posted by Teoball

Still looks like fun. I don't care much about Ps.

At 8:29: "you know, I've seen a lot of things that don't add up."

Yeah... me too.

Posted by Vuud

Yeah, you're not gonna fool me again, Ubisoft.

Posted by jerseyscum

This is the exact same overexposure Ubisoft gave AC3. That's a BAD sign.

Posted by tp0p

It could be okay

Posted by CairnsyTheBeard

Hmm, i get the sense that this wont live up to expectations, it just seems so ordinary, the hacking stuff seems over simple, i was hoping for something more like Gunpoint

Posted by ucankurbaga

This game is going to be amazing as long as it is optimized for PC

Posted by Hunter5024

I think if this game were set 50 years further in the future than my interest would be doubled.

That's just incredible. I wonder if they'll ever be able to make up their marketing budget.

That's because they're all hiding in the shadows....watching you....

It's pretty disappointing to see the map of Chicago is only included with one version of the game.

Pahahaha... reminds of when Warner Bros. released an official table to illustrate all of the different versions for Arkham City. Though even that one wasn't as insane as Watch Dogs' appears to look.

Also, I hafta admit, seeing that you can play chess in this game kinda upped my dwindling excitement just a skosh... Why don't more open-world games have an in-game chess minigame??

Posted by mak_wikus

Is there such a thing as TL;DW? Because... I think I just experienced it.

tbh I think it could be like Assassin's Creed was for them last gen where the first game is largely average/a disappointment but shows promise and the sequels build on it become good games.

I think the "stunning mediocrity" he's trying to convey is best said in this tweet - in that not only is the perceived mediocrity in question, well... mediocre - but it is incredibly absurd in the length it establishes to be that in itself.

Obviously, your mileage will vary in terms of interest in this game, so whether you think that or not is completely valid as well.

Posted by graf1k

@ucankurbaga: So then there is zero chance it's going to be amazing...

Posted by Evilsbane

I hope this game is fantastic I don't think I could handle it being bad, I think it is going to be alot of fun and I am all for the Saints Row style bullshit on the sides.

Posted by paulunga

I no longer care about this game at all. If it comes out and turns out to be awesome I'll probably play it, otherwise I'm not even motivated enough to watch this trailer.

The narration introduces the woman with "as dangerous as she is seductive" I can't I can't.

I kinda like that all the silly open world collectables and footrace-style events are contextualized as ARGs and phone apps. Instead of collect random collectable because YOUR playing a video game, its collect random collectable because your character is playing a video game.

This is great.
Will probably wait for a sale though myself.

Looks good. Still not quite what we originally saw, but at least I'm slightly more interested again.

But that framerate...

I thought it was the video player at first but I downloaded it and nope...super choppy at times. As a matter of fact, the little visual effect they overlayed on parts of the video where it blacks in and out seems to be there to cover up hitches.

Hopefully the PC version runs ok at release.

Some people continue to be bitter assholes on the internet... surprise!

This game still looks pretty beautiful visually. Not as good as when they first showed it, but still pretty damn nice. I hope the game play and most importantly the story, hold up.

Posted by Rasmoss

I will never understand "in-game games". Who sits and plays a poor chess simulator inside another game that you wouldn't touch with a bargepole on it's own?

Edited by BBQBram

Gibson's Bridge trilogy called, it doesn't appreciate being neutered and appropriated for Ubisoft's distinct brand of generic.

I'm sorry, I will retract my opinion immediately.

Edited by Captain_Felafel

That framerate ain't lookin' so hot.

This game release has been a roller coaster, but I think I'm excited again about my pre-order.
