I also think the one number for a screen width is dumb too because there are now two common wide screens and one non wide screen, so when some one says:

23inch that dosnet help. you have to give another piece of information anyway. ie 23inch 9:16

why not just give the width by height.

I thought it was just the vertical count of pixels on screen and specifying between interlaced or progressive scan. Nothing uses interlacing anymore so why don't they just write out the resolution instead of saying 720p just write 1280x720 or whatever the actual resolution is. Oh and how do you know the horizontal res just from 792p?

Uh, what? That weird number is the common shorthand for resolution. It literally tells you almost everything you'd need to know about what res the game is running it.

I don't understand why almost all these promotional videos spend so much time explaining the increasingly uninteresting sounding setting at the beginning. Yes, ctOS, hacking, vigilante, corruption, blah blah blah the city is a playground/weapon, get it over with.

EDIT: I wish the frame rate was as sexy as those smoke effects. Hooray for PC gaming.

If this game lives up to half the claims touted in the vid it will be EPIC!

When that lamborghini came down from the bridge jump and didn't have almost any shock absorption, no vehicle dynamics, and just kept driving .... I turned it off. I'm already bored.

Jack Bauer should star in this game.

I can see the influence that Grand Theft Auto V trailers have had on the marketing for Watch Dogs.

Well, not saying that it didn't work out for GTA V, but at least it seems to be delivering all that it is advertising on them *cough heists *cough

This. I don't loose my mind over not having a solid 60 FPS or the likes constantly running and 'am perfectly fine with something around 30 or sometimes even less, but...new consoles have kinda raised my expectations and you'd expect them to at least run with that constant 30 or bit over it.

But hey, it's a new game for PS4 and one that my PC most likely can't run, so I'll prooobably end up buying it anyway sooner or later after the release.

I will never understand "in-game games". Who sits and plays a poor chess simulator inside another game that you wouldn't touch with a bargepole on it's own?

This game still looks pretty beautiful visually. Not as good as when they first showed it, but still pretty damn nice. I hope the game play and most importantly the story, hold up.

Looks good. Still not quite what we originally saw, but at least I'm slightly more interested again.

But that framerate...

I thought it was the video player at first but I downloaded it and nope...super choppy at times. As a matter of fact, the little visual effect they overlayed on parts of the video where it blacks in and out seems to be there to cover up hitches.

Hopefully the PC version runs ok at release.

I kinda like that all the silly open world collectables and footrace-style events are contextualized as ARGs and phone apps. Instead of collect random collectable because YOUR playing a video game, its collect random collectable because your character is playing a video game.

I no longer care about this game at all. If it comes out and turns out to be awesome I'll probably play it, otherwise I'm not even motivated enough to watch this trailer.

I hope this game is fantastic I don't think I could handle it being bad, I think it is going to be alot of fun and I am all for the Saints Row style bullshit on the sides.

I think the "stunning mediocrity" he's trying to convey is best said in this tweet - in that not only is the perceived mediocrity in question, well... mediocre - but it is incredibly absurd in the length it establishes to be that in itself.

Obviously, your mileage will vary in terms of interest in this game, so whether you think that or not is completely valid as well.

tbh I think it could be like Assassin's Creed was for them last gen where the first game is largely average/a disappointment but shows promise and the sequels build on it become good games.

It's pretty disappointing to see the map of Chicago is only included with one version of the game.
