That argument really holds no water when the main source of many of the fighters damage is through juggling their opponent. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe there are no realistic martial arts that teach how to "juggle your opponent". So really, it does end up looking a lot like Tekken, only less flashy and polished.
 
I don't think VF's bad by any stretch of the imagination. It's had great mechanics, albeit not the easiest to learn. But I dunno, I want some flashiness in my fighting games that SSFIV or BlazBlue offer in spades. That said, it's mostly just the hit detection that looks waaaaay off in this video. Like half the hits don't look like they're even close to connecting with the opponent which just makes it feel really uncanny valley-ish.

I love fighting games.

I like VF gameplay and style, but the characters... most of them are terrible.

Virtua Fighter is the best 3D fighter, at least in my opinion. I'll be sure to pick this one up if it actually comes to consoles.

Never been a fan of VF. Although I did get VF4. It sucked. It just is too button mashy for my taste. Also, what the fuck is up with the fucking voice acting? Worst ever?

No other fighter that uses 3D movement comes close.

Does anybody care about Virtua Fighter anymore?  It's like a Tekken without memorable characters as far as I'm concerned.

I still find it hard to like or care about any of these generic fighters.

VF 5 was the first game I S ranked.  If 6 comes out, it would be an instant buy for me. 

The graphics look dated? That's not much of a surprise - the base game is four years old. These updates are to refine the gameplay and rebalance characters, usually leading up to a badass sequel. 
 
When VF6 comes out, that's when you'll see any graphical improvements they have lined up - at launch, every VF has been every bit as good looking as its contemporaries.  
 
And seriously, VF has balance nailed. I find it hard to play other fighters as a result - the system that AM2 craft is infinitely rewarding, and spamming powerful attacks doesn't work on anyone other than an absolute newcomer.

Why not just a new Virtua Fighter?  This would've excited me more two or three ago but, now, it's been so long since Virtua Fighter 5... why should I care?  I want a new VF!

I have the 360 version of VF5 and I really enjoyed it.
 
The game looked good for it's time, but the graphics in this new game do look dated now.  They could have made the graphics a little better.  But hey, it's all about the gameplay.

Wow. I know the original VF5 is only three years old, but the graphics are looking pretty bad now. Hope they at least update some of the textures.

vf5 was really fun in single player, shame the ps3 version never got online play, as limited as it was on 360

This better hit consoles, and it better hit stateside.

Yea that could be a credible statement if not for the fact that Virtua Fighter was released in 1993 with DOA coming out in 1996 and KOF in 1994 so it is more like DOA and KOF looked at Virtua fighter to model its characters.  I just remember my first home console game and system being the Sega Saturn and spending hours playing VF. Kage Maru was my favorite just based on the fact the dude is a ninja. "

Haha, guys... it's a fighter.  You should be playing for the great fighting system, depth, fun factor.  Not the graphics.  It is great when they look amazing, and they often do nowadays... but really, ENJOY THE GAMEPLAY!

VF is still the king of fighters IMO. Still play VF5 a lot, keeps me coming back much more than SF4

I never thought I'd want to go back to Street Fighter after switching over to Tekken, but SF4 has removed my interest in 3D fighters.

I love VF, but  

I'd love for there to be a larger fanbase for the VF series in North America. The only people I played against were my friends who I convinced to buy VF4 a long time ago.  
They stopped playing because it's not something that you can just jump right in to and got discouraged by the game's learning curve.
