Hoping they put in some net code for the PS4 version as well as the local co-op.

I bought this for something like 1 euro when it was on a steam sale

Jamestown is hardly a bullet hell shooter. Jamestown IS fucking awesome though. Everyone go play it!

Posted by melodiousj

It's only bullet hell if you really suck at shooting games.

Even though I don't have a PS4, I'm very happy at the prospect of more people playing Jamestown, because it's friggin awesome.

I'm psyched for it to finally land on consoles.

I got friends who are deep into these sorts of games from Cave and Raizing, but they don't play on PC, so I think they'll be super excited about this.

<looks at list of steam games> Oh yeah, jamestown, i played that once!

every indie game and their indie mothers are coming to PS4. I approve.

Stoked for this! Yay Philly devs :)

While Jamestown is an awesome game, its definitely not a bullet hell.

I liked the style of requiring you to ramp up the difficulty to progress to later levels. That's one of the FEW old-school systems that actually holds up and I'd love to see make a major comeback.

Fuckin love me some jamestown. Some of the best alternate history stupidity in games ever. And the ships are all interesting to play. Not really a bullet hell, but possibly my favorite shmup since raptor.

Read this as Jonestown and immediately got creeped out.

I really liked this one a lot when I played through it on PC. I will be getting this updated version of it for sure.

This one slipped totally off my radar but this commercial has reminded me to add it to my Steam wishlist.

Thanks Sony!

I own this game on Steam thanks to Humble Bundle. The wife and I beat it together.

If I had a PS4, I would totally buy it for that as well. I felt a bit guilty getting it for so cheap, when it's so great.

and yet another Steam game stolen by the PS4. so wrong... :(

Relax everybody before you lose your shit I own a PS4 as well :)

Still today I'm coming back to Jamestown on PC a lot, it's an astonishingly well-made game, and the soundtrack is one of my favourites. Since I don't own a PS4, the most interesting news for me is "More levels!"

Hopefully this is an indication of an upcoming expansion for PC as well. I'd happily pay a few € for more Jamestown.

Jamestown is great. Already have it tho.

I have Jamestown sitting in my Steam library from a Humble Bundle, or something; had no idea it was a bullet hell game.

More shit. Bigger shit. Give a shit!

"Bullet hell"? Pshaw. Ya ever play Touhou?

Jamestown is a great game, one of my favorites of all time. It has its bullethell moments. Play it on Judgement difficulty.

I totally overlooked this game in my library for a while but it's actually super enjoyable. Can't recommend it enough and it isn't nearly as hard or stressful as most bullet hell shooters.

Yup, amazing game and great news for PS4 owners.

This great news for people who don't have at least a Pentium 4 2.4 GHz or better processor or OpenGL 2.0 graphics card with 256MB+ video RAM.

Don't get me wrong, the game is fun, but there isn't a good reason to being it to the PS4 (or Xbox One) except to bolster their library. The "Next Gen" has turned into the old indie games port house and they're being praised for it. Good for the indies, bad for those of us who wanted unique next gen experiences (I'm not just talking triple-A titles, but just something new [like Transistor]).

That's due more to big developers and publishers deciding to eek out another X360/PS3 title instead of switching development to PS4/XB1/PC until the positive aftermath of Sony's massively successful E3 show. It is always going to be easier to make something for a known than an unknown ahead of time.

Awesome, Jamestown is a fantastic shooter.

To everyone attempting to be pedantic about whether this game is a "bullet hell," it absolutely qualifies as one on the harder difficulties. On the higher difficulties, the boss patterns could be practically ripped straight out of DoDonPachi, which is the series that founded the subgenre.

Yeah, it's not at Touhou Lunatic or Futari's "HARDEST BOSS EVAR!!!!!!" level, but that's not the only thing that qualifies as bullet hell.

People are really quick to denigrate the accomplishments of others, huh? "Game was totes easy and pretty much made for babies to play and feel good about themselves."
