As a person who has treated Dirt 2 and 3's online component as a destruction derby, this game seems like the best idea for the series.

Damnit Codemasters I haven't played Dirt 3 yet!, how about a Racedirver GRID?

Wow this looks like shit. Appears to be a single LOL EXPLOSIONS AND DESTRUCTION mode that should probably be overpriced $10 DLC for Dirt 3. That game already has little to no actual rally which was promised to be in there before release by Codemasters themselves, instead they added a shit mode that is universally despised and ads for the DLC in almost every single menu in the entire game. Looks like they are going even further into the CoD and xtreme area with a bad dubstep 'song' in the trailer and a stupid subtitle like 'Showdown'. Already got ripped off by them for paying a full $50 on Steam for Dirt 3 at launch, soured me on ever buying full price videogames ever again. It's too bad, the series could have kept going if they added the things people wanted. Anybody know if the official WRC games are any good? Only real chance we had at another rally series in Dirt seems to have gone by the wayside.

What platforms will this be for? Like the music.

I love how some of you have decided you know this game inside out based on a 50-second trailer. Whatever it takes to be negative, I guess!

My thoughts exactly. There was a good 30+ hours of content in the overall campaign for DiRT 3, and I'd say at least 10 of that was Rally/Trailblazing. The game even offered a ton of options for doing rallying outside of the campaign mode too, and the multiplayer was as good as it'd ever been.

The DLC appearing in race menus and not allowing you to turn triangles golden without buying it was annoying, and I don't know how I feel about DiRT Showdown quite yet, but DiRT 3 was a fantastic game. InteriaXr seems to have drastically overreacted to minor flaws...

Hopefully this means the next Dirt game is all rally and this spin-off is dedicated to gymkhana type shit?

That trailer wasn't bad, i love Dirt 1,2,3 Codemasters know how to make a great racing games so i'm probably gonna get this

The Dirt franchise stands as my favourite racings series since I played Dirt for the first time. It seems a little early for a new Dirt but it does look like it could be a new concept.

I would be stoked if this ended up being kinda like Blur

Yeah, this is DLC, not a new $60 box, but if one of the features listed on the box is "We've killed the person who ok'd the dudebro voice work" then maybe I'll give it a go.

As a hardened racing game fan and a lifelong fan of the Colin Mcrae and Dirt series, there's nothing to see here.

Makes me want to play trackmania...

Yes. I resented having to play through gymkhana in Dirt 3 to advance. Not my cup of tea. My favorite rally game is Mobil 1 Rally Championship, an old PC game. While I don't play it now, I wish they'd take that experience and put it on console with modern graphics and sound. Full rally stages, limited time to repair car damage between stages, realistic physics. Keep an arcade mode with all the features that traditional Dirt fans like (time trials, rally cross, trucks) but have a sim mode for hardcore rally aficionados.

And nuke gymkhana from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

Sounds like they're splitting the franchise a little bit and Dirt 4 will be more of a Rally-game again than the recent Dirts. Let's hope it's true.
