Kindom Hearts 2.5 Remix Trailer Also Teases Kingdom Hearts III

Yey! a release date!

They did a great job with the first ReMIX. This looks just as good.

Hoping 1.5 ReMIX & 2.5ReMIX will 'catch me up' on Kingdom Hearts since I stopped playing after 2.

They should make a kingdom hearts 2.99, and write the entire game as a teaser for kingdom hearts 3. That is the only possible way I could imagine them delaying it any further...

Oh yeah? 2.5 is going to tease a game that was teased eight years ago? That sounds exciting.

Loved I and II but never played any of the portable stuff. Are they "must play" to understand the story going forward I wonder? Kind of hoping III sort of cleans the slate and starts fresh story wise. Not a big fan of critical plot info being put into portable games. (Cough. Metal Gear. Cough. Cough.)

I know people aren't crazy about KH (some reasons better than others), but hot damn i love the orchestral track in this trailer.

So, I've grown a bit far from the KH franchise ( mainly because that storyline and script make no sense by any standard ), but I can't deny that I'm pretty interested in playing this collection, as apparently KH3 is based mainly on the narrative of Birth by Sleep, which I did not play.

I assume it will be full of awful love hearts dark light power of friendship mumbo jumbo. But dammit I still want it.

Kingdom Hearts 3 will be the last KH game that I will be hyped for it. What comes after that, won't concern me anymore so... yeah. HYPE!

@veovisjohn: From what I've heard KH3 is set to finish off Sora's story as well as the main villain's, you could think of it as something as close as possible to an ending to a series as you can get to a successful franchise these days. Any game they make after this will probably start off with more of a clean slate, presumably.

@levelzerozilch: They won't, the last game they made for 3DS, Dream Drop Distance, isn't included in either of the collections and it kind of sets up what the plot of KH3 is going to be. It's really a bummer that they didn't include it as part of this last collection.

GameTrailers did a "Kingdom Hearts Timeline" video that sort of sum up the happenings of the series, although it doesn't go into too much depth.

Part of what makes this trailer so good and this game look so great is the amazing orchestral version of 'Passion'.

@veovisjohn: I would say that you can safely pass on the portable titles...except Birth By Sleep. Portable or no, it's probably the best Kingdom Hearts game out there. It's also got one of the more interesting stories and because it's a prequel the lore/world-building aspect is really cool.

You could make a case for Dream Drop Distance, but I'd say just watch the cutscenes on youtube or something; the game itself isn't that great :\

Birth by Sleep and Dream Drop Distance will probably be super vital to understand what the hell is going on in the larger story of 3.

I can't wait.

I love how bizarre the concept of KH is, and the music is great, but I have never had the slightest desire to play one, it's odd.

So Terra becomes Ansem (or Xehanort or Xemnas or whatever the fuck)? That sure seems like a spoiler.

You'll still need to play Dream Drop Distance on 3DS, but other than that you'll be good.

Yeah, although It's pretty obvious when you look at the two of them side-by-side.

They're releasing these games faster than Vinny has time to make silly videos with them!!

Chain of Memories (the remake) and Birth By Sleep are good/cool, the rest not so much. I'd look up the key cutscenes for the 3DS game on Youtube, some of them are worth it even if the game as a whole is pretty weak.

Good job Square Enix, teasing Kingdom Hearts 3 in a trailer right before E3 and then coming out and saying "there will be no info on KH3 at E3!" You guys are totally on top of this whole "teasing games" thing.

Man, do those voice samples from Namine and that old guy sound super messed up to anyone else? They sound way lower quality and like much sloppier voicework performances than everything else in the trailer.

Well, I guess now Kingdom Hearts can take us to the worlds of Starwars, the Muppets, Marvel Comics, and possibly (depending on how that lawsuit went) Seal Team 6.

So first of all, you don't have all the details. And secondly, it's not much of a spoiler, as KH2 Final Mix already made it painfully obvious what would happen to Terra. If you plan to pick up this compilation, and you play/view the bonus content of KH2 (some of which is included in this trailer), you too will know what happens to Terra before playing BBS.

I'll add to this and say that before we all played BBS we already knew what would happen in the end. We just didn't know the details of how they would get there. You don't really have any more information than the rest of us did before BBS was first released.

I can't think of anything lamer than Roman Numerals mixed with decimals, but the amount of dopamine this trailer just released I'm no longer comfortable admitting.

Kingdom Hearts!!

Currently playing Kingdom Hearts II using PSCX2. Only thing that isn't HD (using 4x scaling) is the text and menu's. The MIDI soundtrack also sounds dated, but still kicks ass. Of course, I will buy this the day it comes out (for KH2:FM IN ENGRISH!), but for anyone who really can't wait and can deal with blurry text and menu's, and a bit of stretching if you play it 16:9, well grab the PSCX2 emulator and play it! Same for many PS2 games.

Man I really got to finish these games someday, but that will have to be after my Witcher series perfect playthrough

Though not for the battle system gameplay, and certainly not the gummie ship stuff, I did love the first Kingdom Hearts and two when I went through them, but after that, though my brother bought one on the DS and another on the PSP, I didn't play them. Kingdom Hearts 3 feels similar to Half Life 3, though as if it's even further into the past because of my wavering interest of the series as it kept going on, and jumping into three will feel like I'm playing a game from a series I once loved a long time ago. I may have to get the remix.

Was never interested in Kingdom Hearts, Kindom Hearts, now that's the stuff.
