Hmm...I'll withhold judgment until I see more. I loved me some Dragon Age Origins, but I'm willing to put some faith in Bioware. They've never disappointed me before.

Absolutely loved the combat in the first one. Didn't think a single battle dragged out, I felt that every encounter was huge and unless I was smart about my actions, I would fail

I like games that make me use my brain for more that hitting the trigger button when something runs across my screen.

On other things I like the character design of the main character, to be honest I love crafting my own character but I'd prefer if he was more narratively involved. Its hard to be immersed when hes standing there with a dumb blank look on his face the entire game.

You can customise the look of the main character a whole lot. I semi-accidentally did so at Gamex and made a terribly ugly character (with a totally different skincolor under his close-cut hair..) and a pretty funny-looking tattoo straight over his mouth. We laughed a bit seeing this dude as we played. then the EA staff told me I couldn't play anymore, and I was terribly unsure as to why. I guess he just didn't like me having fun and trying to get to terms with the combat?

EDIT: TL;DR: Character Creation seems to be sort of Mass effect-y (appearance, class, from what i saw)

Orgins was one of my favorite games last year. this has quelled some concern but i hope they release a dev walkthrough so i can be sure about this game. THo i will say its bioware and i trust them to make a quality experience and will probably get this anyway

I am not a expert Role-playing gamer.  I found the combat in Dragon Age Origins, to be incredibly tough, and challenging.  Yet, I loved the story, and the characters, and because of that, it was one of the best games I've played in recent years.

Dragon Age Origins 2 looks like it's gone the Mass Effect 2 route, which means the combat will probably be slightly easier, and more action-packed.  That excites me.

I can't wait for this game to come out, as well as Mass Effect 3.

I see characters are still unaffected by being soaked in strawberry jelly.

I am really looking forward to this game, but im kinda worried about it to, from what i can see in the trailers and these interviews ,  im guessing you no longer will be able to choose a class, or buy and find new armor and wepons, hopefully  they wont take away the ability to craft items to, like potions and elexirs. .  im sure it will be a great game, i just hope  they dont take to much away...

You can still choose a class (Warrior, Rogue, Mage), and I've seen Hawke with different armor and weapons so thats still there. I'm not sure about crafting. I never used it personally but I hope its still there for those that want it. I still worried about this game too but I don't think Bioware changing as much as everyone thinks.

@AlisterCat: I'm not certain that they're changing the dice rolling behind the scenes stuff so much as they're just trying to improve the pace of the combat.  Kinda like what Square Enix did with FF13.
