EXCITED!

Edited by Deadlydog

Just make Civ 6.

Just make Civ 6.

Why? What could be achieved with that that isn't achievable with adding stuff to the current game?
I love this approach, Civ 5 in vanilla form was certainly lacking. Since Gods and Kings and this though the game is shaping up to become really really good. A few more of these and maybe it can surpass 4 finally!

Cool! Something to get me over the disappointment I still feel about the $60 wasted on SimCity, which was only purchased because I had played out Civ 5 Gods

Edited by MarvinPontiac

I absolutely do not know how to play this game if I'm not steamrolling cities with a ballista.

Posted by Xymox

So glad they're still supporting this game. I thought I was done with it, but apparently not.

Posted by Nezza

Since I always seem drawn to going for a cultural victory when I play, something tells me that I am very likely to enjoy this.

well... there goes another 20-30 hours of my life.

It's going to be a looooong two month wait.

Oh man Archaeology gets me way too excited

Narrator's voice sounds eerily familiar. Help me out?

only 20-30? =)

Narrator's voice sounds eerily familiar. Help me out?

It's Spock. (Leonard Nimoy)

Edited by Nezza

@ares42: He's only going to play it once by the sounds of it.

Actually, it's this fellow (who has been in a couple of Star Trek things).

Wait, you only want to play once?

Edit: Oh, somebody else already made that joke...

How embarrassing... had a feeling it should have been completely obvious.

Did make me want to watch the Civ Rev trailer with Henry Rollins though.

It seams they are introducing a new civilization: Portuguese. In the trailer we can see Porto, Lisbon, Coimbra, Braga, Funchal... Seems fair and a bit late, since we were a great civilization once before..

This is a really good video if duders want more info :)

I know it's not, but the guy always sounds like he's trying to be Liam Neeson to me.

Would have loved to be there in the room when Leonard Nimoy reached this part of his script. It's a shame they couldn't get him back for Civ 5.

Looks like my Civ 5 addiction will be coming back in a couple of months.

Posted by Bamsen

Oh man I can feel my addiction coming back

Posted by GaspoweR

I'M GONNA GIT DAT CIV 5 SALE ON STEAM....

Posted by essi2

@draxyle: Yes, but Nimoy has deserved his retirement though.

Even great men have to eventually have a rest.

Give me multiplayer mod support dammit!

Awesome.

Is it just me or does the narrator sound like he's speaking too fast?

Posted by Zaccheus

I'm scared. Days disappeared when the last expansion came out.

Posted by PeasantAbuse

Awesome. Just last night I loaded up Civ V and the next thing I knew three hours had gone by :(

*sigh* There goes that 12-step program.

MAKE ANOTHER GODDAMN ALPHA CENTAURI GAME ALREADY!

Posted by Pixeldemon

No more Utopia Project? I liked the idea of the greatest artists, writers, and scientists holding some sort of conference and emerging with the means to create a perfect society.

I'm a weirdo. I loved playing for the cultural victory, so this excites this one greatly. It seems there are some new leaders; it'd be cool if they did the Dalai Lama or something, quite the vibrant culture that.

That's considered weird? Cultural victory is the ONLY way to play. War is such a headache.

Edited by MentalDisruption

July can't come fast enough as far as I'm concerned. I love going for cultural victories when I'm not interested in playing a war game, but the standard pump culture and fill the policy trees gameplay has been getting stale for me lately. This tourism and archaeology stuff looks like it'll be a great change of pace. I also really like the idea of the world congress system they're introducing as well.

Edited by MyNameIsJoe

I love the idea of having to smuggle out great works of art from a city that's about to be conquered to keep them out of the invaders hands. That's great!

edit: Also the way they're adding archaeology to the game sounds awesome.

Edited by Halfdeaf

Wow, I'm getting excited for Civ 5 again. Third expansion is a charm. Civ 4 didn't become the masterpiece is was, until Beyond the Sword came out and the game finally came together properly.

He only has a minute.

Man, they are seriously supporting this game!

Posted by Divina_Rex

I have 494 hours on Civ V. That's right, 494 hours. This will push me past 500.

I've seen William Morgan Sheppard in a lot of things over the years, but his voice always takes me straight back to Bishop Malveaux in Zork Nemesis. Odd that the first thing I ever saw him in happened to be a video game.

Posted by SamDrugbringer

These sound like REALLY cool ideas, but I bought Gods and Kings and never played it... so I don't know about falling for that AGAIN.
