Some of the textures look like they're either worse than Fallout 3; or outdated as Fallout 3.

I was extremely disappointed with Fallout 3.  Weak Combat, weak story ( TERRIBLE ENDING ), graphically unimpressive, but what really killed it for me was the slow clunky dialogue system, it made me not want to talk to anyone.  IF they can marginally improve the rest, and overhaul that, I might try it, but its looking like none of that has been addressed.

 It's not about the most "advanced graphics". It's just that the game looks ugly and awkward....You don't need mega textures  or super realistic character models to avoid that, they just didn't care. 
 
  It even seems like it looks worse than the previous one, but I'm sure that's my memory deceiving me. 
 
  It's just lazy...no matter how much story they added.

Yes, it looks just like Fallout 3. And graphics in Fallout don't even matter. So yes, you're being a graphics whore. The graphics don't need to be amazing in an RPG as large as the Fallout games. Especially when it looks just like Fallout 3, which looks perfectly acceptable.

But Call of duty didn't have a open world. So it's not fair to expect Fallout New Vegas to look as good. There is a lot more for the console/PC to keep track of in Fallout than in "current shooters" so it's not possible to focus as much on graphics.

I was looking forward to this, but I have to agree with most of the posters here, it looks kinda crappy. I'm sorry, but maybe I'm looking at F3 through rose coloured glasses; this game seems to look way worse.

They're playing way too hard on the oblivion engine. It still looks like it did 5 years ago, and it's probably going to be just as buggy. Not looking forward to this.

Same exact graphics as Fallout 3 with a new setting.  I love Fallout 3 but i think they could have improved the presentation just a little.

They chose some pretty terrible combat shots to show in the video.  Those laser and plasma blasts look like they're doing nothing. 
 
I'll play this, and if it has half of the cool side stories of Fallout 3, I'll probably love it.  But there's gotta be some way to make it more visually interesting.  And the casinos don't have nearly enough lights burned out.

No they did not exactly up the gfx but what they really improved was the color. Even from the few vids they have shown you can tell this game is much more colorful which is a nice addition to the gray world of fallout 3. Pre-ordered and ready to go!!

The Gamebryo engine is looking a bit long in the tooth these days. I'm still going to play the hell out of this game though.
