Bruce Lee made Jeet Kune Do by flushing out inefficient techniques and adding devastating ones. he mixed a good amount of strike focused martial arts and wished to incorporate grappling ones like Jiu-Jitsu but unfortunately didn't live long enough to see it through

edit: you may think "then don't play as them," but I'm thinking of playing online, getting matched up with ridiculous fighters would be super lame.

@manakin: John and Kareem were Lee's co-stars in Enter the Dragon. Fred was a hidden character in the Fight Club video game as well as a couple of wrestling games, and is often used as a benchmark for random celebrity cameos in combat sports games.

Funny how so much of the trailer is dedicated to strikes rather than grappling which makes up the largest portion of these fights.

UFC is officially a proper fighting game franchise with a Bruce Lee like character added to the roster.

Given the rather awful past incarnations of Bruce Lee video games (discounting Marshall Law and Fei Long clones) this specific Bruce Lee actually looks pretty great.

Hah. I'm a huge MMA fan, & the sports love of music which is so 12 years ago is a real pet hate of mine. Though arguably for a huge MMA fan there are lots of pet hates. But I only hate because I love it. Definitely glad there's no nu-metal though. Long overdue!

The idea of beating up Fred Durst over and over again has me intrigued.

I'm a huge UFC and Bruce Lee fan and I think it's pretty harmless for the most part. For fans, it'll be the most realistic way to play as Bruce Lee in any video game to date. Playing as him and kicking some ass would be pretty awesome.

However, I don't like the idea of seeing him get knocked out or choked out though. That part feels a little weird. Not like they're dishonoring him, but it just seems wrong to bring a guy back from the dead in your video game, only to have him knocked out or submitted by a UFC fighter when he was an action star that never lost a fight in his movies. It's part of his appeal and his persona. I guess the UFC has undefeated fighters though that you could see lose in the game. Somehow it just doesn't bother me the same way.

In any case, I hope it's awesome for the fans and I hope they do him justice with his moveset and style. I just cringe at the thought of him getting a KO and then running around the cage with some generic victory animation, flexing, and screaming "What now!?" while beating his chest. They better get it right. He would just bow and make sure his opponent was ok.

This is actually really cool if you follow MMA. Bruce Lee is considered a pioneer of MMA by many. Of course there are plenty who don't think he is really but when you look at his teachings you can see the similarities.

I'm just tired of seeing everything but actual fighting from this game. They've barely shown anything which is unfortunate. I guess they're saving it for E3?

I think it'll be a few games before the animation stops looking mechanical and stilted to me. The impact of strikes looks about on par with the Fight Night games from last gen - but the transitions from idle still look really robotic to me...like they could use a few more frames of wind up animation. I'm a bit indifferent about Bruce Lee being in the game, I hope they do him justice.

Looks like they got this right. Love how the celebrations are even accurate. BJ Penn slapping himself in the face is awesome looking... But, seems like they're slightly outdated with their roster. The Iceman's been out of the UFC for quite some time now.

I'm almost as excited to see Uncle Creepy and Big Country as Bruce Lee. Also, the collisions on those hits look pretty incredible. The way Aldo's leg slides of that other guy's shoulder is really nice.
