The most infuriating boss in the game: that freaking Bed of Chaos!

I've laughed more over the last few weeks being on this premium content than I have in a long, long time. It's really fun to be doing this stuff.

What is the song playing during the beginning of the show?

These videos have convinced me to finish this game. I can do it!

@vinny is a National Treasure. Never change Vinny, never change.

That's like no dragon butt I've ever seen.

EDIT: I seriously doubt my weakling ISP can handle watching this while downloading OS 10.9, but let's do 'em anyway.

That beginning is in the pantheon.

Spazzing out is the new play the flute.

Guys missed a soul at the top of the stairs across from the Firesage door...you could see it from the bonfire where the first worm was.

This series is really making me think about diving into Dark Souls.

When the game came out last year, I just kept hearing how difficult it was and figured that it wasn't for me. Although, after watching Vinny, Rorie, and Ian it looks like a blast.

If I do end up picking it up, does anyone have any tips for a beginner who will have no idea what to do?

Keep up the great work guys!

This was one of my favorite episodes of LOLS so far despite being one of the lesser sections of Dark Souls.

I don't think I've ever heard Vinny hit that tone of voice before. He was so pissed... but he toughed through it for our entertainment.

Edited by Iron_Tool

CAN'T GET ENOUGH! So glad that Vinny is sticking to this... I wish and hope for a Demon's Souls version followed by Dark Souls 2 next year!!

Favorite feature :)

Nothing like a Vinny stream to cheer you up after a real rough day.

Posted by kishinfoulux

This was easily the best one yet. So many hilarious moments. Only frustrating bit was the Bed of Chaos, but that was to be expected.

Even with the DLC though, this won't last much longer. Gonna be so sad when it's gone. Maybe he'll do Demon Souls again?

Edited by JCHenderson

Loved watching this at work with the sound down live and looking forward to actually hearing what was going on now. It makes me feel like a terrible parent watching though as you want to help poor Vinny struggling but just have to let him learn through his pain.

I wish I was also a decent artist. A pic of Vinny in hollow form in that armour holding the boar helmet would be awesome.

Edited by ichthy

@mightyduck: Use a spear, go slow, and keep a low soul count. And if you get stuck, just check a guide. The game isn't very mechanically difficult, but it doesn't hold your hand at all.

Vincent Caravella is a national treasure

Edited by Aegon

Vinny can get Kirk's armour now (assuming he killed him 3 times) if he warps to daughter of chaos. Kirk's body should be on that wall that Rorie thought was a shortcut.

its been just a goddamm blast watching you all run through dark souls. i myself, havent laughed so much in a while,

and this content also got me back playing dark souls.

the natural chill banter between you 3 ,+ vinny's lovable goofiness when he plays + the moments that dark souls creates = master class content thats easily worth the subscription

obviously we'ill have to wait and see on how dark souls 2 is and whatnot, but i really do hope something similar to this can happen for dark souls 2.

The most important thing to maintain your patience and move slowly. In the beginning you'll have to learn stamina management, when to put up your shield to block, when to drop your shield guard, and how much stamina each attack drains.

You can get more specific advice in the Dark Souls forum. There are some mechanical systems to take into consideration, stat building, and weapon/equipment selection and upgrades.

Doing that thing at the 4 minute mark and then doing that thing to follow it up was one of the funniest things I've ever seen on this feature, if not the site. This, Volgarr and Pathfinder have been absolutely incredible so far.

There's a stickied topic in the game forum here that has some wonderful advice. Having played and beat the game for the first time this year, I'd personally stress the importance of stamina management (especially if you play a melee heavy character like I did... and Vinny for that matter). In addition, don't feel bad if you have to look something up - personal discovery is obviously a big component of the game, and overcoming obstacles yourself is super rewarding. But I also had a lot of fun using the wiki to learn more about stuff since the game isn't very clear on a lot of key elements in the game.

I think it's Lobos Jr whose no bonfire / no heal speedrun Rorie is talking about. If you don't mind the spoilers or have already finished the game, his stuff is entertaining to watch.

I love you. Good work with this horrible boss!

The first five minutes of this episode are INCREDIBLE.

Vinny has mastered entertainment.

GET THE FUCK OUT!

Man, I don't think I've ever laughed so hard at something GB related.

Edited by bkbroiler

I'm not sure if he was ACTUALLY angry, I don't think I've ever heard Vinny sound so pissed off as when he almost beat the Bed of Chaos.

So glad to have seen the return of Dark Souls stuff. The original quicklook of the game was one of my favorites on the site, and I felt it was such a shame we never went back to it very often (though the one stream that Ryan played it on was pretty fantastic too).

It's difficult to give advice without giving too much, but I feel like the best thing I could say is, "Just don't worry about it". The first time through will be messy, you won't always find the weapons you want, you'll end up putting stats around inefficiently, you'll miss tons of secrets, but that's okay. There is no build that you cannot complete the game with.

In some sense, it's a lot like well made SNES titles where you're (technically) able to get through the entire game without taking a single point of damage. How you build your character does effect how well you'll survive, but nothing will replace the simple(-ish) matter of learning the environment and your foes.

Thank you for making these videos so damn funny. It really lives up to its title (LOLS).

Vinny you lovable fuckup, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!

Posted by mithical

Great stuff, as always with this feature. I didn't do any better against Bed of Chaos and I spent a hell of a lot more time dicking around with the dragon butts for not much gain.
