MY BODY IS READY

Posted by squeamish

Wait a minute, legos can't talk!

Posted by emperordahc

Voices? Mixing serious dialog with the goofy Lego humor isn't working for me. :(

Posted by TurboMan

Why are they talking?

WHY IN GOD'S NAME ARE THEY NOT TALKING GIBBERISH!?

Posted by xync4

boo dialogue! though I guess they had to make things easier on themselves eventually, as many of these as TT has been cranking out

Posted by Tarsier

damn good graphics for a lego game

Posted by Kear

One doesn't simply walk in to legoland.

Posted by sephirm87

I hate the fact that when I watched Game of thrones season 1, I couldn't help but think of Boromir. Now, I can't watch a LOTR thing with Sean Bean and think about anything but Ned Stark.

Posted by Claude

Whoa! They speak.

Posted by Dezinus

Talking in my lego game? Get outta here, Tt.

Edited by ProfessorEss

I love me some Lego games but man I still haven't gotten around to Star Wars III, Pirates of the Caribbean, or Harry Potter 4-7 yet. On the plus side, by the time I'm ready for this one in like, three or four years they'll be giving it away on street corners everywhere.

I'm feelin' that right there m'man.

Speaking minifigs seems like an atrocity of some kind. I like my videogame Lego characters to grunt and gesticulate like real life Lego characters.

Posted by brownsfantb

I would play this. I have LEGO Batman but I've never played it and I haven't touched any of the other ones. This looks cool though.

Posted by zeekthegeek

Travelers Tales need to stop with the voice acting.

I don't mind them talking, but I think the voices of the actual actors don't match the lego people very well.

SOLD!

Posted by MildMolasses

I dunno. Harry Potter:Years 1-4 kind of killed the LEGO games for me. It seemed to be nothing but rote trial and error and not actually a fun little adventure like all the ones I had played previously. I do love me some LOTR though, and even with the real dialogue, it's nice to see that their is still a little bit of comic gesticulation going on

Posted by afrokola

The voice acting adds the little extra touch that I think the LEGO games needed. There's only so much you can convey visually, I think LEGO Harry Potter Years 5-7 was hurt by it's total reliance on visual comedy.

For a real mind fuck, go back and play some Goldeneye.

You shall not pass. This bridge is two blocks wide and your big demon ass requires four blocks per foot.

Posted by Jedted

THEY.....CAN........TALK!!!!!

I suppose it'd be really hard to do a Lego Lotr game without voice acting.

Posted by SCHULTZ

I've played most of the Lego game casually, but LotR Lego I might just buy on release day. Do Want.

Posted by WSGEXE

With every Lego game they look less and less like Legos. Also lol Balrog burp that was hilarious you guys.

Posted by JackSukeru

You're wrong Gandalf, I shall pass on this!

Posted by probablytuna

If they actually have the voices/dialogue from the movies in the game's cutscenes then I'm sold.

Posted by radioactivez0r

This was the LEGO game I've been waiting years for. I may even pre-order it with a good enough Amazon deal.

Posted by geekbot

I think this looks really neat! Then again, I usually find he Lego games to look cool and sound cool in theory, but I haven't played one since the original Lego Star Wars. So yeah.

Posted by Viking_Funeral

Ugh. Two lackluster LOTR game ideas in one day.

Posted by spiceninja

I really like these Lego games and this is something I've always wanted. I am bit a freaked that they're talking though.

Posted by unordinarily

Something about collecting ALL THE THINGS like you do in these games really gets me. Also I love LOTR. And LEGO.

This seems absurd enough for me to purchase.

Posted by Creamypies

IT'S ABOUT FUCKING TIME!

How this doesn't already exist, I do not know.

Posted by fox01313

Will plan on renting this like the other Lego games but should at least find one LOTR game that I like with this.

Posted by yoshisaur

Looks awesome, cannot wait. The voice acting is a new thing to the LEGO games I think that is really what is setting everyone off. Once you get used to it, it's a great addition.

Posted by wsowen02

Why the fuck are those legos talking?

Posted by Tennmuerti

THAT is some major bling.

Also Lego Gandalf is surprisingly awesome.

Haven't played a Lego game since star wars episode 4-7. This might make me interested again

Posted by hagridore

Lego mini-figs should not talk.

Posted by ThatPrimeGuy

Now unlike that MOBA this is a game I can get behind! Hell yeah!

Yeah, the trailer for Lego DC Univerise/Batman whatever had the same thing. I was very confused.

I completely agree with this. The story in the last lego games were basically only understandable by the devotees of the movie. At least someone with a vague sense of what lord of the rings is could actually play this game and hopefully understand something about the story. My hope is that the dialogue is very prevalent in the games and not just in these trailers.

LEGOLAS OF LEGOLAND!

Posted by MormonWarrior

Looks a little bit more large-scale than anything they've done. Wonder if they can pull it off.

For the record, I think they're all very bland games but my brother enjoys them so whatever.

AH! wouldn't have guessed it was alex posting this from the title/description! good on you for not being as predictable.

Posted by DeviTiffany

It makes sense for the DC Superhero LEGO characters to talk because you're taking from one piece of source material. You're taking from all the DC Universe and making an original story, so having them talk doesn't take away from the whimsy of the LEGO series.

When you're just going to transfer a movie into LEGO characters, it's much more interesting when you make them talk in gibberish in a cute abridged version of the movie. That was always the appeal to things like LEGO Star Wars or Pirates Of The Caribbean. This just misses the point.

Posted by flufflogic

I would imagine that the whole movie dialogue part is yet another amazing example of defender of the Tolkien estate Christopher Tolkien, who believes in utter control. As such, he'll have allowed them the license only on the basis of them making all sequences faithful to the spirit of both books and films, therefore utterly blocking any of the great humour we've come to expect of the series.

Omg yes.

I had the exact opposite reaction. I had a feeling it would be alex, since he is a lover of cuteness, e.g the Kirby's Epic Yarn quicklook.
