It's great to see all four people who play that game come to watch stuff on Giant Bomb and have a sense of humor...

I don't get it, what's funny about Patrick joking that a popular MMO is actually unpopular?

Is it ironic hipster humor?

Think of it as arguing with the guy who ran the local CD store. You might not agree with that guy but you have to respect that person on some level. Even if it is on some ironic "hipster humor" level... Also people shouldn't get so uptight on things. Just relax, it's only the Internet.

Giant Bomb doesn't post a lot of trailers, so I'm confused why they posted this one, if they are going to dismiss it as irrelevant.

I don't play LOTRO, but the sub-title was pointless and crude. Patrick is an established professional in the industry, and the aggressive replies to his comment are completely understandable. You have to take responsibility in your position, and if you're going to be negative about anything, be ready to invoke the feelings of people that have a personal relationship with the product. If you're going to sit there and try to impress upon the internet that you have never felt offended at a comment/joke aimed at something you care about; than either you're a sociopath, or you're lying.

On topic with the video, though, if I wasn't so involved in FFXIV:ARR right now, I would definitely jump in and play this. Turbine did a fantastic job with Dungeons & Dragons: Online, so I can imagine that a Helm's Deep campaign would be equally handled.

I'd bet five dollars that Patrick genuinely didn't know this game was still running.

Of ALL The SHIT that is said on the internet this is it huh? I played this game I liked it quite a bit I DIDN'T know it was still going my Room mate saw me watching the video and He was like WHOA IS THAT LOTR Online, That game is still going? It was not an insult nor pointless and crude you guys are just a bunch of children crying about a one off comment that hurt no one.

It seems like I can't go a single day online without someone being offended at something so minor. I knew the game still existed but I chuckled because I understand where he is coming from... some people just need to grow up.

Not being Blizzard and having a nigh-infinite amount of ducats.

In addition, they've kinda gone the route of the recent Hobbit film(s), by having the story in LOTRO not follow exactly along the same route as the Fellowship, instead sending you all over the place, like to Angmar and waaaay up north to a damned cool arctic zone that's name is escaping me at the moment.

Helm's Deep? I would have thought by now they would have started doing material from the third book.
