It's great that now PS3 owners will get to share in one of the best gaming experiences, although I can't help but feel that experiencing ME2 is somewhat ... incomplete without playing the first game.  Here's hoping that that is what the 'extra content' might cover.

a shit, would be perfect if they put ME1 on the same disc, I played it when I had a 360, but then after it broke on me for the third time I gave up on it, and that was before ME2 was out, I would gladly play the first one again to get all that sweet continuity stuff going on.

ME1 was what? 2 dvds? pff that's nothing, they can easily fit ME1 and 2 on a single layer blu-ray, unfortunately M$ already issued a response to that....

sorry about the ign link but didn't found the same news in here.

I won't be buying it.  Not unless they port ME1 over too.  I feel like there will be a lot of missed opportunities if you just jump into a Bioware sequel without old game save data.  I'd rather build a gaming PC and buy both ME games.

ME1 will never be able to jump ship people, stop requesting it.

It was Microsoft published.

Personally, I'd rather see 1 come out, with a port of 2 coming out a short while after, if only so that people who haven't started the series yet (I.E. me) can get into it from the start.

Unless they redo the graphics and take advantage of the PS3 and put a bunch of new stuff in there, I don't care. But then this is not for people like me who have played the game 4 times already....

Really weird that the used the old PS3 font but I am excited none the less. Now I have no regrets in switching over to the PS3.

Since ME1 can't come to PS3 (MS published the first one), but best way to get new players caught up is to ask what kind of backstory their Sheppard has (a la ME1, but more in-depth), and have a short movie of how their story would pan out throughout the first entry of the series.

Just watching their Sheppard go through a short movie in the first third of the trilogy would probably be enough for players to get attached to their character.  Not to mention that the series of video clips that encompass every important choice made in ME1 can probably fit on a blu-ray.

Even as a diehard PS3 fan I couldn't care less, but that's just me going through ME1 & 2 about 3 times on my PC. Maybe when it comes in some cheaper version later min incoming years I'd like to see how it fares on PS3, for now, I'd say pass.

Its not worth it without the first game though. Some of the really meaningful choices in the first game were hinted to have big results in the third during Mass Effect 2.

Lame.  Now snooty PS3 owners will all be like "WEL U DON'T EVEN HAV MASS EFFACT ANYMOR HUR HUR" and think they know everything about it even after not playing the first game.

My friend is a PS3 fan and he's planning to just get mass effect 1 and 2 on PC as a bundle.

I don't hate the PS3 but this just seems like blasphemy.  Bioware kinda sold out on this one.

MS is making a total dick move by not porting the original. Unfortunately I completely understand from a business perspective.
