Can't wait to play Mass Effect.

Posted by DonChipotle

Adept was one of the most fun classes in the first. Looks awesome in this one. Can't wait.

space wizards are fierce

i dunno. it will take alot of convincing for me to drop my soldier

Playing as an Adept was awesome in he first game.  Playing with an adept in your party?  So annoying!  I'd be shooting a guy only to have him blown away from my sight, floating way up somewere else all of a sudden!

I started a new play through of Mass Effect as an adept (played soldier the first time) ... it is awesome so far.  Looks like they will continue the awesome in ME2.  I can't friggin wait.

Adept's always seemed quite strong to me in the first one and the Engineer a bit weak. Will be interesting to see what the Engineer is like in the sequel.

Fuck, I want this SO BADLY.

Dude! Biotic powers just became even more incredible! i did not expect that.

Can it be Jan. 26 now?

Soldier class was always boring after awhile. I always liked going half and half. So like Vanguard, Infiltrator, and w/e the half biotic half tech class was called. Gives you a nice variety. All biotic or all tech might be cool too though.

Holy crap that was awesome!  Definitely will do a play through with adept now!

Posted by russdog

that looks awesome...maybe I'll start a new adept

Posted by Myomoto

Sticking with my adept it seems.

Game looks really cool.
I wonder what random thing EA will include in the box to deter used sales this time.

I seriously hope you can re-customize your character even if you bring over your save.

They said in some interview (can't remember the source) that you can switch classes and appearance, and that they also have story justification for that.

Thats is so awesome! I hope i'll have time to play this.

Posted by Moridin

Wow, that looks great. Even more amped for ME2 now.

Posted by Tennmuerti

From the trailer we see in the character menu only 5 biotic powers you can put points in:
Warp
Heavy Throw
Singularity
Pull
Shockwave

Does not look very "deep" or varied so far.

Adept was my first class in ME and I'll definitely be carrying that character over for the second one. So much fun at the higher levels once you've gotten down the trees in a couple of the powers.

Yup, came in here to post this. Can't wait to mess around with the updated classes with my Shepard.

One nice thing about ME2 is apparently those "mixed" classes will have their own unique abilities.  They showed off the Vanguard earlier and it has a cool looking charge move, so it doesn't just have a subset of the Adept abilities.

Using the adept powers in ME was deeply satisfying. Yanking enemies out of cover with the singularity and throwing a grenade into the swirling mass of dudes never got old.

The first Mass Effect was one of the only games where I picked a soldier/warrior class over a wizardy spellcaster type of character, but in the second one I think it's safe to say I will be a future mage. HOORAY!

Posted by Alphazero

May the biotics be with you.

Posted by pause422

Brad you dont really have to worry, they said when you bring whatever class it is over into the second, your class isnt something that sticks, you are free to choose another class entirely while loading that save still.

I loved my Adept in ME, looks like I'll be loving him even more in ME 2.

Posted by Milkman

I'm using always the "soldier" class in these games but god damn, that was awesome.

Posted by Wiseblood

I also notice from this video that it has Gears of War 2 style achievement tracking.

Didn't notice that the first time!  That's awesome.

you played a soldier? my first playthrough was a soldier, but I've gotten hooked on the vanguards/infiltrators after a playthrough with each. An adept with a sniper rifle specialization is ownage too.

@pause422: Well then perhaps my Shepard just happened to go through a ridiculous amount of biotic training in between the first and second games!

I would miss being able to max out all my weapon skills, though... hmm.

Looks like I'll be converting my soldier into a vanguard now.

I'm playing through ME1 as an Infiltrator atm, but this is trailer is making me second guess that choice a lot.
I want to see some footage of possible Tech changes if there are any.

They've said that when you max a power out you'll be able to "evolve" it in different and varying ways. And it won't be something like "oh this power does a lot more damage now."

IGN just put up an Engineer video.  It looks pretty cool, you can summon a combat drone and you can incinerate/freeze enemies.  The Infiltrator is my class of choice too so I'm anxious to see what its improvements are too.

That guys voice is really...strange not to mention his name.

the game looks amazing. The physics engine seems amazing.

That looks really cool!

why does it sound like she's saying "adapt", as in "adaptability"  instead of "adept" ?

and don't get me started on canadian accents, i'm canadian and don't speak like that :P

lol

What? There might actually be a reason to use a class other than the soldier? Madness!

Posted by Gamer_152

The adept class sounded really cool in concept; just sitting back and being able to control the battlefield with a swish of your hand, but even after reading about the new projectile systems I still wasn't entirely sold on the class as I didn't entirely like the feel of some of the biotic powers in the first game. However, this video really shows off the powers of the adept well and I'm now actually considering whether I want to start with an adept in Mass Effect 2 instead of porting my old character over from the original.

Could convince me to finally have an Adept in my team

Posted by Yummylee

Looks fun, definatley the class i'll go for after completing with my original Sheperds brought from ME1.
Edited by Jedted

Can't wait to see the Engineer revamp video since that was my main class in the first game.

You will most likely just import you gender(since your love interrest will be returning) and choises. The class you where in ME had zero effect on the story so you will most likely get to choose a new class if you want.
