Oh man, it's on.

Although, the Reapers seem pretty weak now, they scaled them back... One was enough to seriously threaten the Citadel and some pretty huge spaceships. Now there's like a hundred of them, and Earth is holding up? Yay?

Sovereign was probably a high class Reaper.

If the Reapers need to leave someone to hang in the back , it makes sense to leave the strong one.

Can't wait. It will be great to see less gung-ho and more space drama in future trailers.

@Zamir: You could make a sandwich with Kanye's "Power" playing in the background, and it would make your sandwich more epic and badass.

@Ryanmc94: They've actually addressed that on twitter before. The 'core' of each reaper is based on the species they're made from, but they have a standardized outer shell, I guess for practical spaceworthiness issues.

The beginning of the rock music reminded me of Doom 3 for some reason. :\

An OK trailer. I'll wait for the launch trailer to get me pumped.

I agree with this possibility. Also that there's a HUGE one or few we still haven't seen and Sovereign was possibly a medium size one.

These always remind me how ugly my Shepard is. Dear me several years ago, just go with the defaults. Too late to change him now...

The music & tone are completely out of place for a Mass Effect trailer. The franchise has a great sound of its own. Why are they using such generic rock music?

It's almost like EA doesn't realize the strengths of their own franchise.

EA understands that dudes like rock n' roll, and epic quotes and explosions.

I could have gone for an epic tweaking of the mass effect sound rather than some rock for sure, and for that very reason this trailer doesn't hit as hard as it seems to be trying, but I honestly don't really care. I'ma love mass effect 3 regardless of the great or poor trailers/media that's released and I don't care if all they show until release is more on rails stuff or just all combat stuff.

The music in this trailer, seems like I've heard it before. At first I thought it was a cover of Wake Up, from Rage Against the Machine, but even though the guitar notes are mostly identical, I still think there's a closer match...maybe another Rage song, or something else (Pearl Jam, almost Even Flow, but not exactly that either). I swear I've heard this music before!

It's difficult to describe how much I wanted to LOVE Mass Effect 2. Sadly though I came up short, it left me wanting so much more. I play them on the PC, the first one was so good too. It even had better hacking than on the 360 and I thought it played great on the PC. ME2 controlled way worse for the PC though in my opinion, and no gamepad support either which makes no sense at all.

I really hope ME3 redeems it for me, but I'm very skeptical. I still want to love ME2, sometimes I go back to it thinking this time I'll enjoy it more, but it just felt so stale. I know I'm an odd man out thinking the combat was better in ME1 than ME2 but even playing them today that is still the case for me. Maybe it's just the PC versions. It actually depresses me that I didn't really enjoy ME2 like I did the first one.

I agree with this possibility. Also that there's a HUGE one or few we still haven't seen and Sovereign was possibly a medium size one.

You're kind of ignoring the fact that fighting space battles is HARD. Not only do they have to worry about the concept of faster than sound projectiles hitting with the force of nuclear bombs due to no atmosphere (thanks to mass effect-enhanced railguns), but it was also a bunch of very fragile organic beings in little bottles of oxygen taking on a machine that lives in the cold of space and likely made of the same stuff the citadel was.

Simply put, If you took a handgun and fired one shot at the window of a space shuttle today, you'd likely kill everyone on board. Shoot at someone on earth, you're lucky if you're accurate enough to inflict a flesh wound.

Also, Sovereign had different priorities than the invading Reapers do. Sovereign was trying to take control of the Citadel to activate the mass relay, so it was actively trying to destroy any ship getting in the way along with the help of (ahem) a massive Geth fleet. If you beat Mass Effect 2, you know exactly what the Reapers on Earth want to do, and that pretty much prohibits from the Halo-style planet "glassing" or other really destructive approaches. Kinda hard to "Reap" otherwise. It's a slow process.

Dude, it's all about expanding the appeal of the franchise. 'Cause you know, the end of a trilogy is the perfect time to jump right in!

Don't get me wrong, I know exactly why they're doing it - I'd even admit that it is probably the smart move business wise.  I just don't get why they can't also release some of the more detailed videos to the gaming press so that the series-long fans can get a look and know that their game won't be unrecognizable.  All it'd take is one short trailer that gives a rundown of gun customization and the expanded skill trees.  Instead we're left to hunt for this information or stumble upon it in magazine-exclusive stories.

I agree ... but: We are still almost 10 months away from release. Videos like the ones you are talking about usually come out max. 3 months before the game gets released.
