Whoa, flashbacks of Battletech for the Gensis (aka MechWarrior 3050), one of the very few games I put the time in to legitimately beat (no cheats) as a kid.

I thought there was some surprise news relating to Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne at first.

Ain't gonna complain about a synth soundtrack.

Expect this to make John Carpenter's top 6 games of 2014.

Looks interesting.

Nice.

Hmm, definitely something to keep an eye on.

I feel like I should be playing this on my old Amiga. Some of those levels look real Syndicate.

Posted by MarcusCoxus

More like Iso'Mech'tric! Am I right, am I right!?

Great song.

I was actually reminded of Final Zone for the Genesis, which I used to play a lot.

man, what a cool trailer. Well done

Very appealing:

- Roguelike

- Mechs

- Isometric

- Visual style

- Synth music

Add a table spoon of Tiberian Sun as well.

Awesome Future Cop: LAPD-lookin shit!

I loved that game unreasonably. CROWD CONTROL

Yup, looks like a perfect blend of the Strike games, Future Cop, a hint of the Crusader series and Syndicate, and the movie GUNHED.

Looks amazing.

Really digging the art style.

I loved everything I saw and heard apart from what appears to be the actual gameplay.

What a great trailer!

I need this

This is being made by Jack Monahan and his brother. Jack is the author of the excellent Design Reboot blog series from a few years back. See here: http://designreboot.blogspot.com/

He's an excellent artist and a great designer. This is on my most wanted list.

This appeals to my tastes. Looks like it could be great. I like the moody synth score, too.

Man I wish they remade Syndicate in this aestethic.

And here I thought it would be a game more like Front Mission. O well. Still looks interesting.

love music. :)

Cute

I really like this aesthetic, but I want it to remain something special. I'm afraid that if we keep getting 80's homage every other month, we're going to run the novelty into the ground.

This looks cool though.

looks pretty generic. I love Battletech but this just doesn't catch me like it did. I'm still waiting on a real Battletech Mech game (that f2p crap can blow me)

Posted by Lazyaza

dss style Mech Commander? yes please!

Posted by ikabubu

I just had flashbacks to FZ Axis (known as "Final Zone" in the West) for the Sega Genesis.

That song is fucking rad. Anybody able to tell if that is licensed or original?

Posted by Aelric

Dude, who did that music? I want to hear more of what they got.

With the original Tron soundtrack.

That song was electrifying.

Did you follow any of his streams over at Twitch? They were/are a hoot to watch at times. A couple of timelapse vids were made.

And yeah, he's as eloquent in taking questions from the chat in real life as he is in his blog posts.

But can one torso twist? That is the question that duders need answered.

Edited by allodude

Music can be found on Soundcloud. Looks like Monahan's personal account?

looks awesome, though it also makes me wish Double fine is working on a "Iron brigade 2" : (
