Yea - that last part is my biggest gripe - extreme circumstances and surviving is one thing - but full on combat training from extreme circumstances is a bit of a stretch - we'll have to see how they handle it.

Still looks very promising - loving the villian :)

I seem to share the same sentiment with everyone else that this trailer looks pretty fucking awesome yet tells you little to nothing about the game. I'm still probably gonna buy it either way.

I am absurdly excited for this game. Given my hype and disappointment for FC2, I'm a little cautious, but still can't help getting excited.

Far Cry Fauxhawk coming to a gaming platform soon. Really though with the tech behind it and an interesting albeit "bro" inspired story going on, I am kinda interested.

Looking up that trailer now. I like this one a lot, but the old E3 one was one scene, a very tense one with some great characterization and awesome voice acting.

I just pray that they removed the XP counters that popped up at every kill in E3. That might fight in a Borderlands-ish game, but it would not fit here at all.

Mr Main Character will undoubtedly have a hidden story that makes him a bad-ass, In real life bad-asses like him don't exist, and you can't just pick up a gun and fire it willy-nilly. like the trailer (and video game troupes in general) he will make surviving seem possible, but at some point they will reveal that he has some sort of military training he is falling back on. Field stripping a firearm is not easy, and if you pick up a firearm off the ground you should field strip and clean it before using it. (in games this is really easy to do). so yeah he has to have some sort of ranger bad-ass, delta force, navy seal background that comes out in the second act.

The up-shots of the protagonist (especially at the end) make him look like a fuckin pixie.

That might be one of if not the absolute best looking CG game trailer I've seen. Damn. And it was smooth too.

Didn't care much for the content till the end, but whatever. That crazy guy is really crazy, which is going to be pretty awesome, hopefully.

as much as i like dubstep though i really hope it's not in the actual soundtrack.

Getting kind of a 'The Beach' vibe, what with the jerk American getting proper fucked while on vacation and all. But with, y'know, more AK-47s and less Tilda Swinton boobies.

Also, I kinda like that it appears to be in the Caribbean and not the Pacific. Nice change of setting.

Also also, I'm kind of a fan of the use of dubstep here. At least until the title shot, when it becomes a bit much.

Throwing a knife and having it hit the mark is one thing which is where its a game.. but just because he runs around and sees an AK somewhere and points and pulls a trigger and magically it shoots without a problem is not something to be all *Hes ex military*.. its also not hard to run through a jungle and kick people or stab people from jumping ontop of them with a big ole knife.. just saying..

its a game.. dont get to into it jeez.. :D

i really hope the main character develops into something less detestable, during the course of the game.

He seems like the kind of character that should get killed first.

Exactly, You are 100% right, this is a game, so reality doesn't matter, it is fun, it is escapism, but people don't want to escape into a life that they are woe-fully unprepared for. My point is trying to predict the second act of this video game, not that I was trying to ruin video games for people. This trailer shows a regular man that is caught up in dangerous times. He turns out to be a man of action. My prediction is he will most probably end up a soldier in one way or another. My guess is it will be in the second act (or where the shit hits the fan and he escapes,) but it might end up earlier. You are right, this is a game and I don't want to deal with the hassle of field stripping a gun when I am playing Call of Duty, or kicking a guy in the face when he is holding me, or my girlfriend hostage. I was merely commenting on the trailer itself and saying this guy will end up having some form of special military training. Just remember I called it.

I was excited for this game, then I saw this trailer and was MORE excited.

Then comes the end of the trailer and I get, "Pre-order now for four free bonus missions."

That totally deflated my excitement for this. I'm not buying another Saints Row: The Third: Kinda' a game.

So this is developers way to make money now? You drop $60 for a bare bones skeleton version of a game and then have to pay more money for DLC packs down the road just so you get the rest of it? I really hope this is not the case and Far Cry 3 actually feels like a full game unlike Saints Row which was just sad. I'm waiting for a review on this one, hopefully they don't over hype and over rate this one like they did Saints Row: The Third.

That mohawk guy looks amazing. This is at least a rental just to see how they handle that guy.

This trailer is pretty rad; it's definitely got my interest in this game piqued. The plot so far feel s bit cliche, but the delivery and voice acting seems really great in the trailer. I'll be keeping an eye on it.

This and the E3 demo. I'm so in.

Trailer was really impressive graphically of course but the game play footage from E3 looked so boring unless they change the gameplay it looks like another modern run and gun shooter with no tactics. I also hated that xp points on the E3 demo after you kill a enemy I hate when games have worthless clutter on the screen kills any sense of immersion.

Damn, that's a well made trailer, but lets wait to get all excited 'till we actually get to see some real gameplay.

I am just hopefully that there are meaningful story beats to suggest why. There doesn't have to be - there might not be, it's just speculation at this point at the hands of a trailer. It's one thing to present a guy in an 'extreme situation' and his story of survival - but for him to suddenly have field experience of such a magnitude which could be perceived as being suggested in this trailer is something that just wouldn't gel well with me as I like stories that don't just leave gapping black holes in the reasons behind characters actions. Obviously we won't know until the game is out. Suffice to say however i'm very interested and found it to be a really good and well made trailer - it certainly got me excited for the prospect of Far Cry 3
