I like that Patrick covers many indie and second tier games - something I hope the site does more of in the future. I'm willing to chalk up the excessive negativity to being younger (feeling you have to say something to justify why you're there) and recovering from injury (and maybe some pain pills).

Yeah, it's not a personal attack on Patrick by any means whatsoever but sincere feedback from a user when I say that this much negativity over nearly every point being made can really be a drag. I can understand and appreciate how hard it must be to fill time and keep commentary going for something like this and I realize most of it is said in jest but it kind of gets to be a bummer when there's so much naysaying. Remember this all supposed to be for fun.

Found it "funny" how they brought up the DS and 3ds when talking about the standby function and completely skipped over the fact that the PSP and Vita have the exact function the PS4 will have and they do it better than the DS and 3DS.

I guess you missed that part where he was praising the system's power, especially during the Killzone demo. But hey, don't let facts get in the way of your bullshit.

This site needs to hire a Shane Bettenhaussen type of character, who is unfairly biased to Sony products. You know, just to balance things out.

Nice video. Though its not feasible I would love to have GB commentate over E3 conferences as well. And I didn't perceive any issue with any of the GB cast talking too much or too negative in this video. In fact, I felt that some, specifically Drew, talked too little.

I missed Patrick. I like his shoes. And I want to watch all of the E3 press conferences with Giant Bomb commentary.

I'm genuinely PSYCHED about the PS4 having not owned a PS3. Good on ya, Sony.

I was impressed they showed so much of it. Also I liked how presenters on stage varied from awkward to crazy.

This was like the MST3K of video game press conferences. Please do more videos like this.

I think it would pretty cool if the PS4 and next Xbox too, came with demo discs or built in that show off what the console can do, like the demos you would get with a new video card. Silly but I want to see that unreal engine demo in person on my tv rather than just videos like always.

Such a shame that Giantbomb will not do the same thing for e3, given that they're at the venue's when that stuff usually happens.

Color me impressed. If the remote play and the second chip for downloads works as well as they say I think Sony sold me as someone who owns a Vita.

I like how the GB crew presented it! Great job fellas. I felt like that was a pretty honest look at the presentation. While I do feel like Sony has owned up and addressed the problems with the PS3 and in some ways PS2 I couldn't help but feel a bit bored with what they showed as far as games go. They didn't show the game I'm most curious about "Legend of the Guardian" and all the games they did show seem to cater to the "core gamer" but not me. I feel Sony strength has always been its quirky, unexpected and less pandering games. But I guess its not realistic to expect that in this first showing of a new console so I'll withhold judgement. The only thing that blew me away in the presentation is the honesty of Sony about its past failings. Hopefully Microsoft will take note of the tone and not make similar mistakes. Either way it sounds like a powerful machine with allot of good people behind it. Hopes are high!

Patrick has the PS4 arcitecture in his collarbone. He's 4D and the 699 USD man.

I own both a PS3 and the Vita, and I'm pretty hyped too, despite the lack of backwards compatibility (hopefully the PS3 Slims have a longer lifetime than the earlier hardware revisions of this generation).

For once it seems Sony totally gets it, they've been terrible at marketing or supporting their products for the last couple of years, but this machine seems designed with ease of development in mind, which I hope will mean it'll get both interesting exclusive titles and decent ports of multiplatform games. The PS3 already had fantastic indie/self-published titles, and it seems like the PS4 will have even more of that.

Is there anything about the hardware that doesn't tell me that I should just stick with my pc and go with ports? It seems like the are moving over to more compatible hardware for games to be developed for both.

I freely admit that I am not very hardware literate so this may not be the case. I do know that watching the announcement videos and then watching the Crysis 3 QL lets me know that there isn't anything happening on a console by the end of the year that a PC can't do now.

Sometime in the future they might be able to possibly deliver on all of the promises to utilize the cloud.

At its most basic level, this was absolutely figging fantastic. Great coverage. I spent 20 mins trying to find a reliable stream on youtube before it occurred to my to check the site. What a plonker!

Those tech demos were impressive; but other people have said it and I tend to agree that PS4 hardware will be outdated by the time it hits store shelves or at most a few months after.

Agreed in full, he wasn't adding a lot of good commentary to anything during the show.

I find it slightly weird that many of the features and things that wow them are already present on the Pc.
Besides, isn't part of the point of a games console to be single purpose?

Gist of it all: Wait for E3.

They hit pretty much every check box they needed with this. The Japanese devs were boring and didn't show anything worthwhile, but I guess that's Japan these days when it comes to games. 8GB of GDDR5 seems a bit excessive, but hey, I'm not complaining. A great show from Sony. E3 should be an absolute blast!

OK... how's that bank account of yours doing? I bet you spend more on the PC then you would on the PS3 to achieve parity. I just built a PC and it ran a little over a grand, I'm thinking the PS will be a bit cheaper.

Brad was treating the concept of a new Killzone game like forced, unlubricated anal rape and groans at the insane concept of the fourth Playstation being called "PS4", but everyone crucifies Patrick for not wetting his pants in excitement.

I don't get the Patrick hate. He was honest in his opinions but also showed excitement and surprise at a lot of the things being shown. No one was overly negative but each was skeptical about different things. If that stream had been at 1080p I bet we'd have a whole set of different opinions on everything being shown.

I hope they choose to make Mark Cerny the face of Playstation this gen. He felt genuine and dude knows his shit. Actually, I'd be good with Drive Club dude or raving lunatic Sucker Punch dude as well.

The James Franco is a good look. Remains to be seen if anyone other than James Franco can pull it off.

He's not THAT bad, but he's so confidently cynical, that's what bugs me. Bungie comes on stage, Patrick declares confidently "I bet they won't show any gameplay," then Bungie show gameplay seconds after he says it.
