They already did, by changing them to Fury and Strife. Though I'm not offended by that in the least.

The color scheme they chose for the logo makes me think Death is a 3rd Street Saint.

As for the remaining two horsemen, I wouldn't be shocked if (if this game is a success), they rounded it out with Darksiders 3, featuring all 4 horsemen. It's going to be pretty hard for single characters to keep carrying full games by themselves.

I won't even have an objective opinion on this game, because I had such a good time with the first one. I'll probably love this regardless of how good it actually is.

Just as i didn't care for wars voice actor, i also don't care for deaths, still stoked for this game tho.

Also 1 big scythe or 2 small scythe aint much of an innovation in the genre.

Loved Darksiders!

Growing up I was a Huge Zelda fan . As an adult Darksiders was like the Zelda game that gave me what I loved but with that added Dark overtone that Adult me really wanted.

Sadly nintendo have spoilt the Zelda series for me with the Wii, crappy PS2 era graphics and I have come to HAAATE the motion controls on that abomination of a console... I may still be a bit sore over the waggle to roll in Donkey Kong Country Returns btw the game that broke my tolerance for the Wii. Fuck you nintendo for treading on my childhood memories!

I cant wait to play Darksiders 2 however.

Ps. Yes I know that there may be an over reaction at nintendo in there but I'm pretty annoyed about it none the less.

Man, that first Darksiders was great. I hope this lives up to it.

I have mixed feelings about this; I'm excited to play the game, but the character design really leaves me cold. War looked goofy and like something out of a middle-school student's notebook, but I dug it in sort of a Warhammer 40k kind of way. This design has the same weaknesses without the strengths that redeemed War's look for me. Also, I agree that for me, Death will always TALK LIKE THIS.

Can't wait,Darksiders 2 will kick major ass!

Question: is this one going to be another Zelda clone or are they going for something different? I found the first game alright although not great, but it would be interesting to see them develop more on those ideas.

Also, Darksiders is still a freaking horrible name. Couldn't it have been...I dunno, "The Horsemen Chronicles" or something more descriptive of what it is? Like Vinny has said, this just sounds like Darksliders like they're some sort of blackened hamburger slider or something...

I have officially been hyped!

Can't wait for this, Dakrsiders was a FANTASTIC game. One of my top 10 or 15 games of all time probably.

He's had the same basic design, the long hair, the mask, and the raven. But they've changed a lot of the smaller details.

It's Summer now? Was once same date as Amalur... Well guess now I don't have to worry about which one to get then, so that's good.

THAT IS THE BEST DEATH. I REALLY HOPE THAT DEATH'S HORSE IS NAMED BINKY BECAUSE THAT WOULD BE PRETTY FUCKING AWESOME.

Damnit!! We almost got to the end of a developer preview without the use of the word "bad-ass" and that last guy had to spoil it!

I don't think Death looks bad. I just think he should have a black cloak or something. Maybe it'll be a thing you get halfway through the game. Or something, I dunno

twin scythe combat looked pretty compelling. Game should be alot of fun.

Also, I believe that it was Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman in Good Omens that said (essentially) that all the other horsemen would eventually be obsolete. There would someday be a world without war, without famine, without pestilence...but there would always be Death.

so it pretty much sounds like darksiders just bigger and alot more stuff packed in,i'm game loved the last one only thing im hoping for is that it's a bit longer and i can get armor that changes me from looking like Casey Jones.

I'm definitely looking forward to this, Darksiders was one of my favorite games in the last few years. It looks like they are really focusing on the two parts of the first game that needed the most work too by (from the sound of it) significantly expanding the hub area and added more depth to the combat. The only real concern I might have for this game is I hope these improvements don't come at the cost of less focus on Zelda-inspired dungeons and puzzles (especially since the puzzles in the first one were far more clever than the average puzzle in newer Zelda games in my opinion).

That character design is a pretty big step down from War, even more so when you consider this is Death. They're talking about him being the ultimate bad ass, and he looks like a low level enemy.

How is Death my maker? Someone's grasping at straws trying to come up with a funny caption...

This game looks great. I loved Darksiders 1.

This is one of those rare titles that I am just so happy and surprised that this sequel exists that I'm buying it day one, sight unseen.

Discworld references in my Giant Bomb? I'm down with that. Also, I really enjoyed Darksiders, and am looking forward to this, but I kinda wish they'd gone with a different horseman. Death seems the obvious choice, and I think it'd be cooler to see a take on one of the other two.

So i'm guessing when they designed Death they asked a 12 year old metal head what's awesome; very uninspired design.

I don't know whether I'm now in love with the game or I despise it to it's very core, but it's definitely one or the other

It's gonna be really hard to wait until the Wii U is out 'cause that's where I wanna play this game!
