Members Only SNES Party: Part 01

After this aired, I re-installed Age of Empires II and pulled out the SNES for a weekend of ridiculous fun.

I bought a monthly subscription just to watch the SNES videos. First videos that make me want to subscribe.

The new lighting on the set looks really nice. Always thought the old lighting was really bright and washed out.

I fell asleep at 2 am and missed the last hour! I'll catch the last part

I'm trying to get my head around what a US SNES looked like.

Games used to be expensive. I can understand that Jeff felt ripped off when Strider took an hour to finish. $80 would be about $135 today given a mean inflation rate of 3% and that's a fairly low estimate of the mean inflation rate. I bet it's higher in the US than only 3%.

I hate the metroid prime games. They are soooo boring.

I watched this live, and they play A LOT of video games none of them to completion just each for a little while this is only the first part, at the end they bring a crazy Japanese game that Brad beats everyone in and Ryan gets deadly mad at him and the game then calls the game bullshit, I laughed for hours totally worth the membership.

As Patrick was putting in the code in Pilot Wings, I thought "no no, the 9 and 4 are reversed. Jeff told him 882493. Patrick must be dyslexic." Then he pressed start and it worked. I guess maybe I'm the one that's dyslexic.

The SNES is, in my book, still the best console ever made. That thing was/is awesome.

This is great, commentary on games and showing them off. If you guys at giantbomb ever feel akward filming these, don't. This is like reality tv but without the drama and bs. Keep up the good work.

I can never get used to seeing US SNES consoles & carts. Seems like a weird design choice.

The Japan and Europe SNES looks so much nicer and the controller has bolder colours.

The answer to the Metroid question seems wrong. Didn't New Super Mario Bros. Wii outsell any 3D Mario game ever. They've done Kirby, DK and Wario all as side scrollers so why not do an update to Metroid. It's wrong to discount it.
