I have to admit, I have a un-abiding dislike and an almost unforgiving attitude about everything Raiden..except for some of MGS2 oddly enough. His parts in MGS4 simply and completely creeped me the hell out to the point of almost preferring watching Octagon do his predictable overwrought freak out instead.

But the more I see this trailer and the more I have become attuned to the MGS universe, where to take it seriously and where to write it off, I am becoming intrigued. I love the hyper bizarre world logic coupled to the almost well done militarism. That bad guy with the sword looked well, BAD and nicely uniformed i might add. No helmet but good side shields . Excellent facial expression.

it's a strange thought, but if this game goes well (Platinum and all) i may actually consider at least getting it....

If this doesn't feature a playable section as child soldier Raiden then this game will be junk.

Also, killing the Darpa chief in this trailer was pretty dumb, but given that there are already more than a few silly things in this game perhaps I may be making a mountain of an anthill. (btw I'm well aware that is not the real Darpa chief)

god of war/ ninja giden (sp?) but with a good story? Sounds like a dumb fun game to me

So for everything "badass" they made Raiden into from two, they still put him in heels.

I don't know about this. For me, the Metal Gear series was always about pushing the veneer of plausibility as far as it could possibly go, and discovering how much people would tolerate... but this seems to go so far over the line that it isn't really sporting anymore.

I mean, the brilliance always came from watching hard-boiled military jargon and complex geopolitical history slam head-on into sci-fi anime madness, and watching both sides totally refusing to flinch.

With this game, it looks like that battle is pretty much over. Anime wins, and does a million victory laps all over everybody's faces. So I don't understand what the point is supposed to be anymore.

I mean, he jumped on the fucking missiles. There's really no coming back from that.

This video is absolutely bananas. There are like 3 false endings where it just starts up again, insane pseudo-conspiracy theory crap thrown across the screen in huge capital bold font that's barely coherent, a vaguely politician-esque dude getting violently impaled out of fucking nowhere for no apparent reason, bizarre music that doesn't fit with the visuals whatsoever, and great narration.

I can't stand Quinton Flynn's gruffer 'snake-esque' delivery. In fact even in MGS4 I wasn't a huge fan of Ninja Raiden and I've always preferred his MGS2 iteration. But this game looks supremely goofy--even by Metal Gear standards--above all else so it fits in here more so than it did in MGS4.

Probably won't be rushing out to get it, but I'm still very intrigued to see how this will all turn out.

I don't usually take notice of words that are underlined for being misspelled anymore, but it is funny sometimes when you notice some common words that are not underlined because they are correctly spelled different words in Swedish. Words like "and", which is a type of seabird, "for" which means went/travelled, or "is", which means ice.

I have never played a Metal Gear game before (I know, I know) but something about this one looks rad. Hope it turns our well. Add another high profile game to early 2013.

No more bleeding that white stuff, that was kind of wierd in MGS4. Of course I am not getting this game, but I like to see what kind of craziness is being cooked up in the MGS world.....never lacking in convoluted crazyness in that part of the world. No I am not referring to Japan. I think Japan is at a loss over this, also

anyone else gone back to the other MGS games recently? I just played some MGS4 last night and that game is SUBSTANTIALLY better without the per-act installs. Everything flows together properly and it has a REALLY energetic pace. The briefing scenes between missions dont even feel so bad because they're still shorter than those install times. It feels...replayable now.

This trailer needs more Kanye West...

As someone who used to help run a MGS fansite back in the day, I am excited for how non-serious this seems to be taking itself. MGS4 (story wise) sucked ass, and this just looks fun.

Not sure if I even want to understand what the hell is going on here.

This game looks great and all, but this trailer is embarrassing(what the fuck was that dialogue in the "after" part of the trailer with RoboDog? sounds like Quinton Flynn was hit with a club) and this song is still hilariously bad.
