In any case, he was not missing either arm after the crash. His body was recovered and the arm then transfused onto Ocelot in the events between 1 and 2.

Liquid's remains since exchanged hands on a few occasions. Like Gray Fox, I think he's dead as Dillinger, even by MGS standards.

I really like the trailer. It's really unsettling. But if it really is a Kojima joint the gameplay will probably be shit and the game is comprised of 20 minute cutscenes with some stealthshootymans in between.

There's no way this is a trailer for a new Metal Gear. Uh, hello people? This isn't a 20 minute trailer! No way Kojima worked on this! :D

At any rate, it has giant flaming space whales that eat helicopters. I'm in! That's exactly what I want from my games, no joke. I'm so sick of hyper derivative, completely interchangeable (and completely disposable) shooters that all feel the same. You can do anything in a video game; do something interesting. THIS looks interesting! Metal Gear or not!

I'd prefer it to be some random new original IP...

It's probably next-gen stuff.

More than anything, I'm interested in a game that has a protagonist with an unreliable sense of perception. It's definitely a departure, especially with the next-gen graphics and writers who are free to do whatever the hell they want without being forced into a standard video game framework.

I think that one of the problems with current video game art design is simply fear that the gaming community isn't up for this sort of thing. Truth is, the visuals and tension are like water in a desert for us. We've been ready for this sort of thing for a long time. Let's just hope they can pull it off.

Speaking as someone with Night terrors (This is J, for those of you with Premium memberships/remember jar videos), this trailer hit a real cord with me... and I mean that in a good way. I'm a hard individual to creep out or scare, the last time I felt genuinely freaked out by a story or game was with Metro 2033... Don't really know why though... Anyway, this video managed to hit a real solid tone with me... I don't get very exited for games, but I am looking forward to this... May well be a system seller for me if it's an exclusive.

I love this trailer-

What a fantastic way to convey a dream/nightmare like state with the limpness of the body (like not being able to run in dreams). Not to mention the hazy shadowy figures. Very unsettling and disturbing. Best trailer this year.
