Metro: Last Light Can't Get Here Soon Enough

2033 is one of my favourite games of this generation. Full stop. Couldn't be more excited.

So many games have polish up the arse nowdays, but so few have the heart, detail, and atmosphere 2033 pulled off (at least for my experience). I really hope they maintain that with this one.

I am 113 years old.

First game was pretty average and large chunks of it were downright broken. One can only hope this game has more polish, less shooting and more eerie supernatural elements than the first.

Let me say this, as an American who lives in the area of which this game was developed: YES, the accents do sound "comical", BUT I hear more comical accents literally every single day on the bus...the accents are accurate, and if you knew what Russian or Ukrainian sounds like, it would make more sense.

Also, I feel like the "Fascist, Communist, Capitalists" idea also would seem comical to a westerner (at least the fascist part), but the Communist-Capitalist debate is an everyday thing here, and if I didn't live here, I wouldn't believe it possible. You would be stunned by the amount of people in this area who would love to go back to communism given the chance (granted, they are usually 'older-souls') and I think this series plays with those types of dynamics.

Anyways, I'm excited.

I know exactly what you mean. After a couple of tries, and hearing it wasn't all that long, I made it through and quite enjoyed it.

Did go to youtube a couple of times though, which I'm fine with in this case.

If I'm paying for a game I want to fucking see it. I hate walking around in pitch darkness, so boring and monotone. A fantastic way for games to hide poor textures!

Acoustic guitar and a fake Russian accent that sounds more Mexican kind of ruins the mood.

Oh man, that magazine checking animation made me more excited thant it should have. Russian voices, no HUD and barely a magazine of ammo is how this will be played. Oh yes.

Going through 2033 right now. Playing on Ranger Mode. Fucking stealth is broken and I got no bullets!

This game will be great, if for the sole fact that the developers have a passion for their product and an attention for detail; not to mention extra time to refine with the THQ collapse.

For the millionth time, it's Ukrainian, only the book is Russian.

But yeah, the first game was surprisingly neat.

Man, the game looks GORGEOUS! The first one was also, but not that optimized. Looking forward to upgrading my video card for this!

The way the game is described in this trailer..I kept expecting the narrator to call me stalker. I'm definetly looking forward to this game.. I know it is it's own animal, and maybe early next month will even take a chance and pre-order it on a on-line site.

Maybe it's possible to go through the game without killing anyone. If not, maybe a player would want to do a run with killing as little people as possible.

We've got to the point now that I want to check this out but I'm really only interested in playing it if it comes out on PS4. Hope it's a launch title!

2033 was flawed but beautiful, Infinite I'll catch up with later but this I need today.

Can't wait to see Patrick get to S.T.A.L.K.E.R. eventually. Hopefully someone points him in the direction of the various mod packs that address the numerous issues of all three games yet don't completely change the experience (ala Stalker Complete or L.U.R.K.).

Metro 2033 was pretty awesome. Looking forward to this.

I'm guessing that the PC version will look amazing then. Big fan of Metro 2033 and have it on the PC and Xbox 360.

Finished Metro 2033 twice to see both endings. While in hindsight they themselves aren't really remarkable enough to warrant doing so, going through the game again was a lot like reading a good book for the second time. There's so much detail to the environment that, like Bioshock Infinite but to a lesser extent, it tells a story without any dialog.

While Last Light looks very similar, if it can build upon what was conveyed in the first game I'd buy it. I do hope the gun play is a bit better, the weapons in the first felt tinny and ineffective.

When that's Metro 2034 english translation coming out? Is it now? Better had be now, goddam it.

Man, who wrote this narrators script? You think the best way to hype people up for this moody, stealthy game is by having a narrator talk all over it in a sort-of jovial way? C'mon. C'mon, guys.

I really hope they do some cool moral system in this game like Metro 2033. They hyped it a bit in the trailer, so I guess there's something there, but I hope it comes back in a cool way. I really liked the natural feel of it the first time round. I'm all in for some Eastern Bloc weirdness. I'M ALL IN.

First game had ranger mode, but only through DLC. I'm fine with getting it at release instead of later. I like to support the creators of things I like, so I'll prolly buy the game when it releases.

I'll wait until it's $10. The pre-order shit makes me sick and I won't support them for restricting the entire Ranger mode to it.

The last Metro game was the only first person shooter which has ever made me feel sick. I couldn't finish it because it each time I tried to play it I just got a headache and felt vomity. Hope this one is different.

@hassun: I'd imagine you'd do that to break line of sight/make it harder to be detected once the bullets fly.
