Metroid: Other M Trailer

This thing looks goddamn bananas.

This is a good thing. I love me some old school Metroid and the Prime games are amazing, but this looks like it has the potential to be the awesomest thing ever. But then, I really like Ninja Gaiden too.

Lookin good. Nintendo should shop around zelda to other developers as well.

This just looks.........weird. I don't know, it doesn't really seem like a Metroid game. I'd love to be proven wrong, though.

There's one great thing about all this too. Sakamoto and his team are cooperating with Team Ninja. Yep, you can be sure this will be TRUE metroid, because Sakamoto is one along with Yokoi who created exactly what Metroid was.

As soon as I saw the Team Ninja logo I thought I was watching the wrong video. This is very unlike Nintendo.. I'll wait to see how this turns out.

Well this looks totally different to Metroid games past...... That's not a bad thing but this whole change of identities going on here is weird. This game looks to focus on action while past Metroids have been about exploration mostly.... I mean Samus has become a total melee badass in this game... :O

It's probably not the direction I wanted Metroid to go towards but I can't deny how cool it looks. That's what Team Ninja does best.

I am also another Metroid fan who believes Metroid should be an isolated, creepy experience. It worked wonders in Super Metroid.

........So now that Team Ninja is making the next Metroid......... Does this mean iminant glorification of Samus's assets? :P

Never been a fan of Metroid (Super Metroid is the only one that I really liked), but man this trailer was the shit!
My nephews have a Wii, looks like I'm going to have to "borrow" it for a couple of weeks hehe

I think first person worked better in the GameCube games, explorating the game world in those games was fun. 3rd person usually suggests more actiony game. Guess we'll have to wait and see what the balance is between quiet exploration and blowing stuff up.

This is the weirdest collaboration ever. Team Ninja and Nintendo making a Metroid game. Crazy.

Sorta 'meh' throughout the whole trailer. Something about the vibe or just how the trailer was put together just doesn't do anything for me & I'm a metroid fan from way back.
Maybe because the CGI's look JRPG which automatically fills me with dread. Metroid : Other Melodrama.

This and Galaxy 2 dragged the wii press-conference out of mediocrity.

what about retro studios if they don't develop the next metroid what are they developing

From the gameplay shown I'm not really seeing how this could be anything other than a brutal disservice to the franchise. I could be wrong though, as there hasn't been a shoddy Metroid game yet. I guess all will become clear with time.

HOLY SACK OF CRAP

A very underwhelming trailer with lots of puzzlingly cheap CGI, and it's difficult to see how Samus Aran and brawler-esque button mashing fits together. Still, I expect there to be at least some gameplay continuity with earlier games (the last of which I cared about at all was Prime 1) so the end result shouldn't be half as bad as it looks at first glance.

You know....i think i like this idea.  After all it seems unlikely that we can go back to the way metroid used to be and honestly I don't want to.  Besides this could be a side or story, a new imagining, whatever.  I'm glad they are taking risks....and having Team Ninja do it should give it some much needed oomph.  I'll keep my eye on this one...it could be as much of a series changer as Metroid Prime was when I first saw it.

I must be high...Team Ninja of all people.  I fail to see how this will be anything but awesome.  It looks very different.  But I trust both TN and Nintendo.  So, bring it on.

i haven't played nay of the metroid prime games. i ahve the first but couldn't beat a boss and gave up. i've bene thinking of trying it again and this trialer has given me the incentive to do so. it's so awesome. i'd love to get it.

If they take the exploration out of this game and make it God of War, hardcores will stay away because it's God of War with crap graphics, and Metroid fans will stay away because they'll strip the series' defining element.

I doubt Nintendo will let Team Ninja make this game as hard as they'd like, either.

Nintendo's top game of the Press Conference for sure.  And at least they mentioned Zelda Wii at Miyamoto's conference.

I admit the trailer looks pretty sweet, but for anyone thinking that this Team Ninja is the Team Ninja of DOA or Ninja Gaiden, then they are somewhat mistaken.  While there are junior members of that development team left, if you read James Mielke's interview with Tomonobu Itagaki, you understand that most of the principle people have left Koei/Techmo.  That isn't to say this Metroid Other M won't be good, it just won't really be Team Ninja.

Team Ninja and Nintendo working on a Metroid game...there's no way this could fail.

Definitely looking forward to this one.  The original Prime is one of the best games ever made and I'd love to see how they evolve the concepts from that series.

This was like, surreal when they announced it at the press conference. Totally blew my mind, being a relatively big player of the series. Can't wait to see how it turns out.

Even though I liked them I was growing tired of  FPS Metroids.
