This is looking a lot better. Glad to see its shaping up

I would play this. I'm not sure if I would love it yet, I want to know more about the RPG bit.

Posted by TheFreeMan

I can't tell if this looks awful or pretty good. Hmm.

Posted by MasterTom

yea... you know...
the ai looks kinda dumb... if my cloths were on fire as a hired merc.... i'd jump or run at the guy shooting me.
Graphics are NOT very impressive at all... looks like a ps2 game.

really can't be bothered with this

Posted by Macros

This looks great.
Just been waiting for so long!

Fingers crossed they don't delay it *again*

I really like Obsidian, and I want this game to do well. I am a little concerned though, as this game has seemed to have a lot of development issues. I guess we will know soon enough!

Posted by Scotto

This game still interests me, but man those graphics look bland.  The menus and UI look pretty bland as well.

That's fine if it's an RPG, but this trailer made the game look extremely shooter-heavy.

Looks like fun. Gadgets and powers don't seem to be anything groundbreaking, AI looks a bit iffy, and the graphics aren't the prettiest, but it all looks solid.

I still have hope, Obsidian, no matter how much Sega tries to destroy it.

MOVEMENT LOOOOKS JANKY!!!

Sorry but i'm gonna call it..this game will not play well, mark my words. You heard it here 1st

Posted by Milkman

I really really want this game to be good but it just reeks of disappointment.

Yeah, it just looks waaaayy too complicated than it should be...
But, hey I'm really not a fan of these types of games.
Posted by Feser

It's unpolished, but I don't that is neccessarily a bad thing.
Posted by 4f3f4324f342

looks better then the first trailer,

but it kind of looks like a remake syphon filter 1 and 2 with updated gear and graphics,

That may not be a bad thing but that doesn't mean its a good thing

I'm with you.  I think most people want AP to be good because it's such a slick concept.  But every time I see more footage of it, I get more and more skeptical.

Yeah, the idea of the game and the original teaser they put out showed a lot of promise. Now, the gameplay walks the really thin looking line between solid, but quirky, or buggy mess (.....so, a lot like Mass Effect 1).

Guess I'll just have to wait until it comes out to find out for sure (like always).

But can you shoot down UAVs?

Posted by JohnPastor

I suspect I'll buy this, but I might not play it until someone releases a mod changing every instance of the word "clip" to "magazine".

There is right, and there is wrong.

@TheFreeMan:

Especially when they say "this is definitely an RPG", and you see the shooting... first thought in my mind = "Mass Effect!" Not that it's either a definite good or bad thing.
Posted by LeonsHell

I'm seeing Army of Two's inventory system mixed in with the shooting of Mass Effect 2. They might want to improve some of the animations to be more fluid, just saying the Red Dead style quick fire system looks static and the cover movement not great.
Posted by ArcLyte

the game looks fine.

Don't know what people are talking about with the graphics. Character models and areas look really good. Mouth movement looks very good as well.

Splinter Cell: Conviction's Mark and Execute looks way tighter and a hell of a lot more stylish that Alpha Protocol's version of tagging enemies and taking them out at once. But then again that  is only one of hopefully plenty more abilities in Alpha Protocol

"I think RPGs are a very interesting game in that people want to play around with all the different types of options that they have available to them"

Is it me or does this sound like he has absolutely no idea what he's talking about?

With these kinds of videos you can usually tell what the game will actually be like. You can hear the lack of confidence in their voices, they seem iffy about their own game and they really look like they're trying to justify the game to players and themselves. I think if they felt they were developing a masterpiece, they would be much more comfortable with it.

This game seems a little dubious, but having said that, I really want to play it. Sadly, it seems like it's going to be one of those games which just ends up really disappointing :(

Sigh.

I think this game looks amazing. I was just about to pre-order it when they announced the huge delay.

"I don't know who you are Bob, but I'm opening opening this security door/shutting down the alarm thingies and cameras for you." What the fuck?

Guys don't scream when they're on FIRE! Even bad dudes make some noise when they're on fire.

These guys are probably scared as fuck about Splinter Cell Conviction

That's a fair assessment.

I love the IDEA of the game but I can't tell about the execution....Here's to hoping it turns out well.

looking polished

Posted by Jackel2072

The games ideas are solid enough, however if your going to make a RPG with guns you still need to make those guns feel real and powerful. The shooting here looks pretty stale.

Who the FUCK is bob?

That animation was terrible - apparently if you're  spy you can shoot 3 bullets at once out of a single gun that each find their way to a different target...

I like the idea but the shooting looks awful. The second you replace skilful aiming with behind the scenes numbers, you create a massive disconnect with the person firing the gun and the character on screen. And with aiming reticules that HUGE, clearly there's a lot of number crunching behind the hood and while that's fine for something like Dragon Age, here that's just going to make the shooting really unsatisfying.

Bound for the bargain bin...

Posted by weegieanawrench

This game looks a lot better now than in previous videos I've seen of this game. I'm actually kind of excited for it now. It's a cool concept too. Here's hoping it turns out well.

Posted by louiedog

This video made me less interested in the game than I was before. It made it look a little bland.

Posted by gosukiller

Hmm.. I was pretty hyped for this game, but seeing actual shootings is turning me off.
Hope it's like Mass Effect 1, as in boring combat, awesome story/dialogue.
And by that I'm not saying I'm hoping for bad combat, I'm just expecting it.

Posted by Simmse
@Vitor:  The only aiming reticules that look huge are the shotgun ones and thats to be expected, i kinda agree with you though about everything else, this kinda seems like Mass effect with spys and worse combat. Some of the animations do look bad , like when he throws a grenade and the gun disappears and reappears.
Posted by Jimbo

Hard to believe they keep showing it looking this rough - it's not like they're just about to release it or anything.  The animation is terrible and it looks like they borrowed the HUD design from Rosco Mcqueen or something.

Yeah, between ME2 and Splinter Cell's existence, this game is a tough sell.

Those games look like they have the base mechanics down.  AP game looks very rough around the edges with its animation and effects.  Way too early to be showing this off if this is how it looks.
Posted by Terrents

i think just plain shooting a guy would be the best thing to do if he is shooting you. cause in real life people die when you shoot them. you dont need to light their clothes of fire

DO WANT.

We don't know who Bob is or if he has the security clearance but he told us to turn off the alarms so we did.

Posted by Branthog

I love all these games winning awards years before they're even released.

Posted by MaddProdigy

Good to see mass effect 2 getting ported to ps2 finally...wait a minute.
Seriously though, graphics look ps2-ish, AI looks pretty stupid, and it looks like they have the same animations for getting shot, lit on fire, etc.
3/4 of those "gadgets" were guns, grenades, and types of ammo which I personally don't really consider gadgets.
Locked doors AND enemies? Way to think outside the box.
I was stoked for this game when we saw those first trailers what, a year ago? But now, way beyon dis interested, especially after this video.

Ey, Bob would make anyone do his bidding.

Or else he rams you in your solar plexus.
