Pretty pumped about this. From what I played of the DS game, it's pretty baller.

"One of the most 2009 acclaimed game"?

Uh what? No one noticed that before releasing this?

Posted by Shirogane

Looks nice, not sure if i'll like the way the battles are though, or any of the other systems it uses.

Also, is it just me or is Godric one of the most generic ass names for a knight/warrior ever?

No, no, you don't understand.  That means that of the acclaimed games in 2009, this one was the most 2009 of them all.

Also, super stoked for this.  I loved Critter Crunch on PSN, from the same developer, and was sad that I couldn't play this on DS since I got rid of mine a long time ago.  Capybara games is really good.

@CoverlessTech: This is a port of the DS game that was released in 2009.  That games was one of the most acclaimed games of 2009 (that you never heard of)

Sounds like they're just re-doing the story of the DS version which is disappointing to me. It looks very pretty but the DS will limit the context.

Anime style Might & Magic? Lame.

Americanime, thank you.

one of the most 2009 acclaimed games?

That... doesn't even make sense.

Posted by ArbitraryWater

Apparently this game, despite being a conceptual travesty to the Might and Magic series, is actually really good. Maybe I will take a look.

Posted by keyhunter

I liked Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. I hope this is as good!

Wow! What a great game this trailer shown! I am what I've just seen impressed! It have wonderful storytelling must. I will first day release buy!

As much as I hate the fact the Ubisoft used the venerable "Might & Magic" name for something as antithetical to the M&M license as an anime-styled strategy game, this HD remake of an apparently good DS game looks pretty awesome.

@endaround: No, you idiot, he was saying that the sentence:

"One of the most 2009 acclaimed games" doesn't make any sense.

It should be something like:

"One of the most acclaimed games of 2009"

Stupid douche.
Posted by ahoodedfigure
@tr00matt: You actually read it wrong.  "One of the most 2009 acclaimed game." It's much clearer without the plural.

I hear this was actually pretty good.  It's a bit weird to see a Might and Magic game in this style but it looks like it might have a lot of depth to it.

I know what the game is, I own it. The grammar just doesn't make any sense. "One of the most 2009 game"? What the hell is that suppose to mean? Of all the games released in 2009 this is the most 2009 of them all? What?

the gameplay more than makes up for the art style.

@ahoodedfigure:
Sorry guys, but   "One of the most 2009 acclaimed game" makes no sense whatsoever.  How can some of you even read it sensibly?  It should be either 'One of 2009's most acclaimed games' or 'One of the most acclaimed games of 2009'.

Surprised Ubisoft let it through, tbh.  That's along the same lines as All your base etc.
Posted by tr00matt

Whoops. I made games a plural. Even still. As pointed out already, 2009 is really in the wrong place. That's REALLY bad editing for a trailer... especially if it was so highly acclaimed.

The hilarious grammatical error reminds me a bit of a huge sign I see on the side of a tall building when I go to work everyday. It says " Cataring" when it clearly should be "Catering". I find this little mistake extremely difficult to understand, considering just how many people were likely involved in putting it up there.

First, we have the business owners who (presumably) wrote the text themselves and spelled it wrong. Then, we got the company which manufactured the sign (since it's so big I doubt the catering service created it themselves). Finally, we got the workers who put it up there on the building. I mean, you'd think someone involved in this project knew how to spell a simple English word like "catering"...

I've heard great things about the DS game, and it looks like they're really putting some effort into improving the graphics. Looks like a purchase to me.

Like the art style, although I don't know much about the gameplay. Looks interesting though, I'll have to try the demo when it comes out on Xbla.

the ds game was amazing, i played it for exactly 50 hours after expecting it to be crap, but ill only buy it if they change more than graphics.

No it makes sense, the game is in the top 2009 most acclaimed games of all time! Not a very great honor.... No I kid, that really is bad they let that through. I suspect the editor was not a native English speaker (Japanese or French?).

I loved Critter Crunch, and yeah it looks like a mix between Critter Crunch art design and Gyromancer.... Could be good.

That game on DS was wicked! one of the best ds games in 2009!

"One of the most 2009 acclaimed game"
What? This game was made by Canadians. I thought they spoke English.

Posted by tr00matt
@Egge:  Though if the workers are anything like me. They'd of left it up without saying anything just cause it's such an obvious oversight.

hahah. Cataring.

Is this game good?

Canadian English, which like bad American English or much of what you may read in forum posts on the internet.

That's quite hilarious! I imagine one of the workers putting up the sign being like
A:"Heej, boss....I dunno what's wrong but something about this sign doesn't seem right"
B:"You know what's not right about it! You've not finished installing it! So shut it!"
:)
On topic:
I love me some TBS but, like so many said before me FFS! Why the anime artstyle? :(

Clash of Heroes was a surprisingly great game.  Definitely one of the surprise DS hits of 2009, it came out of nowhere and was a surprisingly competent puzzle game using a license everyone figured was long dead.

edit: Surprise!

I can practically hear the thick French accent as I read it
Posted by Lind_L_Taylor

So is this an "infinite/random dungeons" type of game?

I can't say I'm very enthusiastic about this...especially if it's $15 or higher.

Posted by AgentJ

This is a must have people. I can't wait to give Capybara games 10 more of my hard earned dollars, this game is that good.

Take off eh.

Calling it one of the most acclaimed games of 2009 I think is a real long stretch.

Posted by locolukah

The DS game was a lot of fun. One of those games that is hard to put down. However, the story was awful.

Posted by Grillbar
@Meatsim: yearh if you cant say anything good then dont say anything at all, and atleast dont make up some weird tagline that is stolen from some other game

What date is this coming out?
