It's better out of context.

Patrick Bateman is that you?

They're making Ripper 2!?

What is this i don't even

Posted by Joker369

I wish this was the whole game. From what Remedy has said, this will be mainly combat and not so much on story which sucks

That face will haunt my nightmares. *debiggen screen*

Rely that sucks Loved the story of Allen Wake not so much with the combat

Posted by mrcraggle

@Joker369: I thought they said it started off with focusing on the combat but them being Remedy, they couldn't help themselves but tell one.

Posted by Stealthmaster86

...I think I found who I want to be for Halloween.

Posted by DharmaBum

And that's why I love Remedy.

Posted by Tsuchikage

Well, that was...disturbing.

Alan Wake's American Nightmare has been described as being "3/4ths action and 1/4th story" by Remedy.

Edited by Joker369

@mrcraggle: In a recent Game Informer preview, Remedy said that if the original Alan Wake was two-thirds story and one-third combat, American Nightmare is two-thirds combat and one-third story.

They also said that story is not the main focus here.

@druv: MODUS OPERANDI

Poets Of The Fall + Alan Wake = Awesome.

Edited by wewantsthering

Guessing this is an homage to American Psycho?

Posted by Redbullet685

Really excited about this game. It seems I'm actually one of the only people on this site that enjoyed the combat of the first game.

This is the trailer for an 11 minute short movie of Mr Scratch learning how to dance, right? Right?!

Posted by spilledmilkfactory

The fuck was that? Strange trailer notwithstanding it's nice to have a release date finally. I loved the original Alan Wake.

No, that's the Kinect-exclusive game coming 2013. Learning to Dance with Mr. Scratch.

Posted by Nightfang

Mr. Scratch is a dancing psycho.

@Redbullet685 I really liked it too. My only complaint was that the only real way for them to ramp up the difficulty was to throw more dudes at you.

I need this.

Poets of the Fall ! , it was so awesome when the song war began to play on that radio... dammit why did my 360 had to break and why this is not on PS3!.

"This is just for kids." Nice, imagine the nightmares.

That bassline is killer.

Posted by DoctorSage

Having an absolute hell of a time finding this song, does anybody know what it's called and the artist/band?

As far as I know, it is called "The Happy Song" by Poets of the Fall from their unreleased album. Remedy uses Poets of the Fall a lot.

I think he says "This is just for kicks." I like yours better though ;)

Seeing this guy in mobile operator commercials over at Finland almost every day, kinda makes this video...interesting.

Also, Alan Wake for PC in just two days, can't decide whatever to buy or not!

Posted by LiquidSwords

Next week can't come soon enough!

Even when acting as a complete lunatic, Ilkka Villi is far too attractive for his own good.

I wonder how they coached the actor into getting in scene for this... "ok, remember when Michael Madsen's character in Reservoir Dogs danced around the guy he was interrogating and slicing up? Well do something like that and we'll make it kinda creepy..."

Posted by AlexanderSheen

Damn it, that song is really catchy.

Posted by Captain_Felafel

Well that was good and weird. I'm in!

Posted by Heartagram

Wow...one of the better trailers I've seen for a game. Why is there not more horror in games? I understand it's not that broad of an appeal but I think if you do it well people will buy it pretty much no matter what it is. At least in the gaming world.

Posted by AndrewB

They caught the model/voice actor for Alan Wake doing crazy shit and decided to film him.

He's now in prison... but at least they got a great trailer out of it!

Agreed. I am not sure sure why everyone hated it.

Was that Poets' music in the video? What song was it?

Posted by Nihilius

@Venatio: Yeah it was poets. It is probably from their new unreleased album.

Posted by Maitimo

I'm not sure the game will be able to live up to this, sadly.
