yay

Lots of stuff being posted today

All these Wii U exclusive versions are annoying me. Give me and my PS3 the bloody version of NG3 damnit.

Posted by mrfluke

lets see if they learned their lessons on this game and fixed all the issues for the wiiu version

Edited by SnakeEyes327

Looks like they brought back the challenge and brutality for NG2. Good, this and a few other games might just be enough for me to buy a Wii U in the launch window.

Nice to see them bringing back the violence and also getting some other DoA characters in on it. Whether or not this new version will be worth a shit remains to be seen. I also have to say that it's cool to see Nintendo embracing some more Mature franchises for the Wii U; it gives me hope.

that dude was super british.

violence wasn't the problem with Ninja Gaiden 3. It was the complete lack of strategy and challenge.

Edited by poheroe

yay more ninja gaiden....for Wii U??

Edited by BoOzak

No amount of ultra-violence can save this game, sorry. It's beyond repair. Saying that i'll still play it like I have every incarnation of NG since the Xbox. (because apparently I hate myself)

Also anyone else find it kind of weird how they were trying to sexualise Ayane? I mean she's like 16... Granted she was in those beach volleyball games but still. (it's legal over here & in Japan but it's kinda fucked up to advertise it)

While I hope you're right, I don't see anything here suggesting that the challenge is correct.

So basically they are trying to put what should have already been in the game in the first place back in while probably keeping the f***ed up mechanics. We also give you the weapons that should have already been in the game for FREE with this WiiU exclusive.

You won't fool me a second time just because Ayane is a playable character. No deal.

About fucking time.

added violence can't save Ninja Gaiden 3 unless they make some bigger changes to the gameplay, story and overall structure of most of the game.

i know story in Ninja Gaiden's usually throwaway, but when the developers themselves state that they're going to focus on the story this time around, and the gameplay is affected negatively because of it then it's something that they need to make right.

Posted by Maitimo

I don't think NG3 is salvageable. Better to move onto the next game and pretend this one never happened.

Posted by xyzygy

Still looks like shit! The newer Ninja Gaidens are nothing without Itagaki.

Haha, yeah cause that happens when devs swap platforms and add some minor dlc.

Posted by torus

Looking back at these games... I'm kinda embarrassed that I ever liked them.

Posted by cannonballBAM

@mrfluke: @xyzygy: @Maitimo: I pretend 1 & 2 never happened, at least 3 made the series interesting which hasn't been true since the original trilogy.

Posted by Milkman

Remember that game that nobody liked? Well, we're doing that again. Please buy a Wii U!

Posted by Ghost_Cat

Now I remember why I never got a Wii: it didn't have enough decapitations in the first place. Thanks Nintendo!

Posted by Slasher71

@Milkman:Meh, I disagree, its not that people didn't like it...it just felt more like a step back for the series, but really the game is still enjoyable although a little more button masher that Ninja Gaiden fans like.

Posted by Grimdaddy

Oh its"Team Ninja" like how "Black Isle Studos" is being resurrected by Hervé Caen. You know, the guy that killed that team the first time. This looks awesome.

Posted by EvilNiGHTS

You know, if Ayane and Hayabusa fought like that in the DOA games it'd be a huge timesaver.

Posted by MeatSim

Purple haired lady getting a massage. Ya know? typical ninja shit.

Posted by zoozilla

The voice-acting in this trailer is terribly amazing.

Posted by SwiftyMagee

I find it ironically awesome that knowing Nintendo's history with censorship and their general stance on violence, the Wii U version of this game will be the goriest! Honestly, if you would have told me a game like this would be on a Nintendo system back in the days when I was playing the SNES version of Mortal Kombat, I would have thought you were insane.

What the 'ell is she flyin' in 'ere for?

I dunno mate! PROPA Bri-ish!!!

...I only just realised that Alex was making a reference to Lost in Translation >_>

Edited by bybeach

I honestly don't know any better, I thought this was one of the ladies from Dead or Alive, was shocked when this went where it did. Was waiting for the boob physics and instead saw a bunch of guys getting cut up. kind of violent.....maybe extreme volleyball 2 next time?

Edited by NTM

Wow, this is the first time there's ever been an ad on Giantbomb on the video side... Oh yeah, the game. Well, it's at least looking better than the other versions.

Posted by kindgineer

Only Japan can get away with a Ninja-game's trailer including a massage scene as part of it's thrilling trailer.

Posted by outerabiz

i wonder if the developers know, how ridiculous this is...

if they do, great. If they don't. Even better!

Also, why did that first guy blow up?

Posted by fuzzypumpkin

none mercy

Oh god. Those poor, poor soldiers.

What made you think that looked difficult? Looked more like the last NG game, which had neither. This just has gore, we'll have to wait and see if it's going back to it's more technical roots.

PS, this looks pretty not good to me.

I want to love this game, please be good

Itagaki was and is a pretty pompous dick. I don't really see what you think he added. I mean Sigma 2 was built from the ground up for PS3 by the same director who did 3. It's just that they chose poorly for this new game. I still found it entertaining though.

Because NINJAS.

I never played NG3, because I saw the quick look, and while killing with dragons is fun, everything else in the quick look did not look fun. I won't say it's a bad game without playing it; simply that my gaming dollar has to be spent wisely and I didn't feel NG3 would make the cut.

Instead I bought Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing.

Edited by RebornLS

@LiquidPrince: Itagaki is all about direct interactivity and progressive combat. NGII had more enemy varity in one chapter than all of the NG3 enemies combined. Not to mention the fact enemies would persue you throughout a chapter, making many fights optional if you were good enough to evade them that long.

All of his games under TN still hold up, and in retrospect are some of the most responsive games i've ever played(i've on a retro binge lately) . All of the TN games not directed(NG:DS,NGS,DOAX2) by Itagaki dont hold up as well.

Itagaki isn't everything, but the AI team(ex-AM2 known for their AI work on VF4) left with him and NG3 suffers greatly because of that

Outspoken, yes.

Edited by mewarmo990

Itagaki needs to fund another Razor Ramon Hard Gay promo video. Then I might buy this game.

I think you were supposed to cut out the Nintendo youtube buttons at the end there guys.

@BoOzak: Age of consent here in Japan is 18 I'm pretty sure and child pornography is certainly illegal no matter what Brian Ashcraft and his writing style would have you believe. So yeah, it's kind of not okay no matter where you go.

Posted by Dark_Lord_Spam

They could have replaced this trailer with a static, white-text-on-black-background image reading: "YO, DO YOU HAVE A DICK? THEN YOU KNOW WHAT WE'RE GOING FOR WITH THIS."
