Ninjas Abound in Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations

Haven't followed Naruto in years but I loved UNS2, hopefully this ends up being just as great.

They were almost there with Rise of A Ninja and Broken Bond (the main 1p mode was an action-adventure game with cutaways to one-on-one fighting). I like those games (finished both) and I hated the anime, but nooo we had to get more of these.

Look at that title: Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations. Jesus H. Christ-sama, that just about sums it up well. These games and this anime have dragged on this goddamned long.

The Ninja Storm games are awesome and this one has more characters than ever before. It looks awesome. I can't wait.

I just recently played through UNS 2's story mode. While the battles were good, the side quests were meh in my opinion. I hope the battles in this are really good.

I am unironically excited about this game.

I guess Ninja's gave up on the whole being stealthy thing.

I know it's a trailer... and this is the power of marketing... and I'm totally gonna stop playing this after 2 weeks like all of my other fighting games... but... that looks pretty good and this might be the first naruto game that I get... is that bad?

holy shit this game is pretty. some of the best in-game animation i've seen.

Man, I haven't liked Naruto in yeaaaars, but the Ninja Storm series are pretty enough and button mashy enough that I may have to pick this one up.

They'll definitely play this game back at my campus! Actually, that's a good thing.

Did you know that this phrase was originally uttered by Jeff Gerstmann when presenting an exclusive trailer Gamespot had for a new Naruto game? It's true.

If anything, in Jeff's mind this is the one exception.

I'm always impressed by the graphics and wish they weren't in such a terrible fighting game. I think the Gamecube games actually have the best fighting system. The 360 one is decent but there is stuff about it that's just straight up broken and ultra janky.

What I do wish is that someone would take all of the assets from these games and revamp stuff like Spiderman Cartoon Maker with it.

That's not really what the series is about. If they wanted to really capture the tone it'd be like Monster Hunter where squads of 4 people have to team up and use actual strategies and tactics to take out opponents who are generally waaaaaaaaaaay stronger than they are with the occasional 1 vs 1 battle that gets epically out of control. The series isn't really 1 vs 1000s like Ninja Gaiden.

Yessss! Over an hour of precious anime?! I'm throwing my cash just everywhere in the hopes that some of it lands in the till at my local game store so the game can land at my feet and lay anime eggs in my eyes and mind! Hooray!

@OriginalGman: This game features all the characters from before and after the time skip wherein they aged all the characters a few years and started a fresh plot line so it has both "generations" represented.

In a nutshell it means a huge group of dead and kid characters get to fight alongside the current roster.

I really like these games ever since Ultimate Ninja Storm. Cyberconnect2 are very good at making Naruto look amazing and impressive, much more so than either the comic or the anime. Looking forward to how Asura's Wrath turns out as well.

@Knave: One Piece for the Wii was pretty fantastic, it just got too grindy for me near the end.

Bought the last two day one, this will be the same.

People should really give it chance before knocking it down.

The last game was great even though there were balancing issues when playing online. Looking forward to this one(provided they continue to give you the option to switch to japanese voices).

Because all the interesting combat in the series happens in 1 on 1 fights, the scenes where they take on dozens of ninjas is mostly for show. That being said, there were a few 360 ones that did that. They weren't very good.

Wow. I can't speak for Naruto or the actual quality of the game, but those graphics are very close to the show. That's quite impressive, actually.

God forbid 8.7 million people have a different taste in video games than you.

I really enjoyed the first Storm game, it was flashy as hell and even a little fun against friends. I didn't get the second game because I had stopped watching the anime (couldn't put up with the fillers and the snail pace whenever they actually got back to the main story) and haven't caught up on the manga either.

The pace that they've been putting out the volumes here makes me want to import the English versions, but I haven't bothered yet, which means I'll probably skip this game too.

Ninja Storm 2 was one of the prettiest, most well animated game I've played this generation.

I still can't stand how amazing this fight is. And I don't even like Naruto.

Looking forward to this. UNS is a great series.

If nothing else, the graphical style is a joy.

They had me ad 70 playable characters. Only reason I kept DBZ:BT2 was the amount of playable characters. I love unlocking chars every time wondering who might be the next one. Hate that most fighting games go the arcade route now adays of just giving you all of them straight up (.. and then adding more that could have allready been there trough DL-Fucking-Cs)

Zabuza sword can not be beat.

They've made enough of these games to justify calling this one "Generations?" Or are there just enough different characters and plot lines at this point? Either way, I remember this show just getting popular when I was in college, which makes me feel old.

To the game's credit, those are some beautiful animations. They look much better than the Dragonball Z fighting games. I can't imagine all those flashy moves control especially well, but what do I know.

The Ultimate Ninja Storm games are so fucking fun. Definitely picking this up.

Zabuza is top tier.
