Nintendo Dives into ROM Hacks With NES Remix

In a nutshell, because all the games in this thing are also on the WiiU eShop and Nintendo would very much like you to purchase them for 5 bucks a pop.

I mean, there's probably more to it than that… and I've already played this and can vouch for how fun it is, but yeah.

I have the game and it's pretty fun. It's cool doing the challenges with games you have played before. The biggest treat is easily the Remix stages. One of them is trying to complete 1-3 in SMB while all the platforms and enimes disappear for a few seconds. This game reminds me of Nintendo World Championships.

Weird. I enjoy Nintendo's weird surprises like this, though. Game was announced today and showed up on the eShop today. Looks very Warioware-esque, which is a good thing.

If I had a Wii U, I'd totally buy this. Put it on the 3DS please! :)

Meh.... Don't show me pictures of Excitebike... It almost made me want to buy a Wii-U... I might have to dig the NES out this weekend.

Also, looks pretty great. Especially that Super Mario Bros. segment where it was only a silhouette of the level.

Can't deny that a small part of me considered a WiiU for two seconds.

So this is basically the 2007 DS game Retro Grade Challenge, but with official games as opposed to fake arcade-like games.

The real question here is, will I be able to finally put a bullet in that damned Duck Hunt dog? Probably not, but this looks very interesting.

$5 cheaper and I would have bought it...

This is a genuinely cool idea.

Because the reality in which the word "minigame" means something inherently worthless or evil is not the same one you posted that comment in.

My reaction went along the lines of - Oh... that looks cool. Man this is like Retro Game Challenge ... but better in some ways. Wow that's a smart change to Mario. Man I'd gladly pay whatever for this. Oh it's only on Wii U. Fuck that. I'll wait for the 3DS version.

I want to love the Wii U... but honestly anything short of a new Zelda game isn't going to get me on board at this point. And that Cranky Kong announcement at VGX ... yeezus... they should have shown this at the very least.

It is about 10 hours of content. For 15 bucks not a bad deal at all. (And it was funny as all get out seeing my girlfriend jump as i do close calls in finishing the games!)
