There's a difference between having absolutely no exposure to popular culture and having no exposure to Top-40 terrestrial radio. Guess what, I've never seen Jersey Shore and couldn't tell you anything about it or anyone on it, either. And I have no idea who any of the people on the New Releases section of my MOG.com interface are, either. There's a difference between having misplaced pride in being disconnected from the world around you and simply not being exposed to something, because you're not the target demographic. I'm also not familiar with any of the movies on the Top 10 movies of 2011, because I don't watch live television and I don't see commercials or advertising (which are primarily how you find out about current films).

However, I could tell you plenty about current games, literature, technology, business, and events. I somehow don't think I'll feel too bad for knowing about the latest shitty sit-coms or the latest infatuations of teenage girls.

I didn't want to insult anybody or something like that. I consider myself to be pretty much outside of most parts pop-culture, but she was just so much in your face over the last years, that I found it quite surprising to have never heard of her.

Katy Perry's one of the artists I hate with PASSION. Everything about her music, her voice, pisses me off to no end. Stuff like putting celebs into video games is that you annoy a portion fans of your video game. UGHHHHHH GET THAT TUNE OUT OF MY HEAD GAWDDAMMIT.

The lyrics mentioned Radiohead and Johhny Cash, so I thought "She's right, they have both come up with good and memorable music, I should go and listen to something of that quality"

I'd like it if more of the 'meh' songs would subtly recommend better music artists to go and listen to.

I unironicaly and unapologetically enjoy her music.
