This was great! I feel like Ryan and Patrick’s interviewing styles are pretty different, so there was some clashing there.

Damn Ryan is a pro. This has to be one of the best pieces of content on GB.

This was great, i dont understand the complaints here. I thought the back and forth between nolan north and patrick was real funny.

This guy is so ridiculously cool. And I cannot believe how many games he's done voice acting for. What an awesome resume he must have. Very, very cool.

How in the FUCK did Nolan's joke about having to put his dad down totally go over everyone's head? I am laughing a year later...

I'm a little surprised Ryan thought that highly of Nolan North's voice to think he did the young Nathan Drake.

Absolutely great sport with that almost off-hand comment about his sobriety. I thought it was gonna go bad, but it was all good.

@MonkfishEsq: Are you serious? What's your problem with Steve Blum? Have you ever met the guy? He damn near misses flights at conventions and other places to sign to stuff for fans as long as there are people in line he'll stay. He does tons of charity work and donates his voice to charity auctions and also supports his fellow voice actors and people breaking into the business.

I don't know what your gripe is besides him maybe having a limited voice capability compared to others such as Nolan North but if voice directors love him to death I dont see how your statement can be true.

When Patrick was asking a question and cut up Nolan about 3 times XD that was a little cringey

Awesome interview. Some really serious stuff without taking itself serious at all. The best kind. And Nolan North seems to encourage the kind of serious shenanigans I've come to love from GiantBomb.

OK. I just finished watching this and now I understand why people don't like this Patrick cling-on to the rest of the core GB team: He's a third wheel. Completely superfluous and unnecessary. He provided ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to this interview except acting like an ass.

Calling Nolan North an asshole made me cringe. I don't care what the mood was like, there is a modicum of "PROFESSIONALISM" that underlies everything. Don't believe me? OK, can you picture any other staff (Brad, Vinny, Alex, Jeff) acting the same way this Patrick did during this interview and then calling the guest an asshole? I can't either.

Patrick has no professionalism. His behavior and "goofy" antics are nothing less than a 2-year-old screaming "Mommy, mommy! Look at me! Look at what I can do!"

Ugh...I'm sorry. I tried giving this dude a chance but after seeing this I am completely disgusted that this guy works here.

Watched the interview, and nope, everything's just fine. Just the internet getting worked up over absolutely nothing. Again.

Great interview, Nolan N... sorry.. Mister North had a great personality and it's not surprising to see him as successful as he is now. Having that said, his comment about that 5/10 review score stuck out at me, but not as much as Patrick calling him an asshole followed by a handshake where NN referred to Pat as cold. Maybe Pat just got carried away by North's affable nature and I'm sure in the end all was well, but that wasn't even funny... Maybe if Pat had a witty, well though-out line around calling North an asshole where everyone could appreciate the humour then it would have been less awkward. As it stands right now, to me it looked like an attempt to convey the idea of "This is how cool this guy is, he's like my buddy, I call him an asshole, and he rips on me for being a stone cold prick, we're bff's, this guy and I!!" and fell short on all ends. Great interview overall though, if I was in their position I would be happy to be able to even control my voice's volume and the ability to speak properly without slurring over my words. ...god damn I just saw GB interview Nolan North... still processing that in my head

Agreed, even early on in the interview Ryan starts flipping through the book and then Nolan kinda had no one to talk to but Patrick. He went little over the line towards the end but all in all a pretty solid interview.

What happened? It's too cringe inducing to even contemplate. Fellow journo here. (I work at a student newspaper, but I am paid) I don't insult people. It's just... tacky.

Man these comments are brutal, so much so that I had to comment. Great interview, it was a lot of fun to watch - including Patrick's "immature" friendly jab near the end. To those that got so heated over it, chill out and stop trying to make everything someone says into a nuclear event.

Did Patrick just get really freaking pissed at Nolan North?

I'll admit, I was put off by Patrick calling Nolan North an asshole, but I didn't comment because I don't know the whole story and social situation. After listening to the Bombcast, I'm glad I didn't because after what they said, all of the behavior makes sense. I love this site, and all the members who participate. I do not do so blindly, but I respect and appreciate the work that all the members do. I don't know everything that happens in the office, and that is why I reserved judgement, and I'm glad I did. Congratulations having Nolan North in the office, and I respect the fact that you all took some risks with your interactions with that potty mouth.

Pretty harsh, folks. For myself, I didn't like the comment either but it came across as a little awkward rather than the end of all things GB. I'm really enjoying the Endurance Run, I like Patrick's news stories (there's a whole wealth of stuff on there GB never had before - and complaining because the site has MORE content is utterly bizarre) and I don't mind him at all on he Bombcast. We still get plenty of suggestive Jeff and crazy Vinny.

For those of us who have been with this site since the beginning there's always going to be a little sense of 'I miss just the core 4' but that was before Alex, Rorie, Will, Dave and other WM faces were involved too. Things have kept moving and that's how it stays vibrant. Guess what? Two years ago I HATED that Brad and Ryan forced Uncharted 2 into Game of the Year when Jeff and Vinny clearly wanted Arkham to win. And I really like Ryan and Brad. Sometimes people are human beings and we disagree with them. End of.

I feel like the only time anything actually awkward happened was Patrick calling Nolan an asshole, and that wasn't even bad, it was clear he was just joking and Nolan took it fine. Ryan interrupted Nolan a lot more, but it always seemed to be for the goal of moving the conversation along.

Loved the interview, I haven't played any Uncharted games but I'm tempted to get this book, it sounds really interesting.
