They are 2 completely different movies. While yes they do share some characters and story, the difference in presentation counts for a lot when comparing Alien and Aliens. They did not just make "another Alien" when they made Aliens, they completely changed the genre.

Different studio. Different type of game entirely. Based on a different film.

Of course, it's easier to be surprised when you expect the worst. But lets not knock it until we know more about it. It's definitely Alien in spirit, and that's a very good thing indeed.

Also, give Creative Assembly a chance. People complain when a company sticks to one genre/series... and then people complain when they branch out. Make up your minds.

I love that sound, but it's associated with inflated hopes and disappointment. If I were designing the sound for that trailer, and I had the rights, I'd be tempted to use it to.

I don't think it looks terrible. No where near as terrible as Aliens: CM looked. The graphics looks so so, but it's early and some parts do look good. It looks like a pretty good horror game to me if they nail the atmosphere.

This looks like it could be an Amnesia like game, but with an Alien (or more than one?). I hope this turns out to be good. I really wanted to get CM, but the way it looked when it came out and how Gearbox pretty much sold the game on lies turned me off of it. I hope the dev team on this one can do the franchise good, but I'm not holding my breath.

Agreed. Not saying it can`t be scary, but it definitely won`t have the same effect as not knowing what`s going to bust out of an air vent and maul your face off.

Ugh, another dude forgetting that games forced women to play as men 99% of the time up to now. If that's such a sticking point with you, then sorry, but you should figure that out, because that's not a normal reaction.

Besides, this is Alien we're talking about. A woman being the protagonist is the ONLY right choice. Beyond it being the only thematically right choice for a thematic successor to Alien, it is especially fitting if you're trying to appeal to the human "reptile brain" (Y'know, the part that manages your fight-or-flight reactions) which perceives females as physically weaker and more in need of protection.
