Who can't play the game and why? If you mean queues, there are plenty of servers that don't have a queue.

If you want to know the who's and why's then just go ask them yourself. The ToR forums are ablaze with people having issues that aren't queue related, not to mention fanbois demanding "whos and whys" from anyone who isn't one of them. ;)

What the fuck are you doing, guys? This one interview has single-handedly changed my view of this massive free-time black hole. I played WoW for 5 fucking years, I can't do that again. Why did this interview have to be so goddamn interesting?

It was a honest question, I didn't know lots of people were having issues, but I don't hang around on official forums of an mmo, I value what is left of my sanity :)

EDIT: not sure if you are calling me a fanboy..?

For the guys saying you should play it like and RPG. What will you do when you hit level 50 and all you will have left is combat? Will it still worth the monthly fee?

For me, at least... no. If that's what the endgame is like, I'll quit playing (and paying). I can always come back for expansions or cool events or whatever. I've never had a game that I loved FOREVER, so I don't get why people expect that for an MMO. Play it until you stop having fun with it, and then quit.

What's up with Jeff's complete awkwardness in the first 5 mins?

The whiskey couch is where I get all my interviews.

Posted by Grissefar

He keeps dodging the instance issue. How come WoW can do it no problems? Is it really worth it just do it will go smooth once a year when there's an event?

Posted by Chris2KLee

I like these new interviews, it's be cool of they could do this weekly. Drag some developer or voice actor that's nearby or in town and just chat up a bit.

I'm not gonna lie, Star Wars the Old Republic is the Star Wars game I've always wanted.

It's something that dawned on me after playing one of the rail shooting Space Missions, where I thought that it was exactly what I wanted space combat to be. In other flying video games, dogfighting often ends about being circling each other forever, but this entire game is extremely cinematic while still being very video gamey AND something you can play with friends.

Maybe it's just me that feels this way. The space combat in this alone is a great throwback to the classic CD-Rom title Rebel Assault, which I spend a ridiculous amount of time with in my early teens, so maybe it's just a nostalgic throwback for me.

I'd like to give this a shot but 60 dollars on top of the 15 dollars a month is too much to ask for my curiosity.

i didn't think much of the beta, but this interview has me re-interested in the game very very much

I am Nolan North. He doesn't just do extras, he's the male Consular.

This is awesome. Please do more interviews like this. I have no interest in MMO's but this is so damn fun to watch. Love me some behind the scenes.

Posted by Baal_Sagoth

Very good interview & the perfect GB team to conduct it. Pretty interesting concepts, I wish the game wasn't an MMO because I'd be much more likely to try it.

Posted by CJduke

Great interview, answers a lot of questions I had. I love the game btw

I can't wait to see everyone's opinion on TOR three months from now. Because right now, this wave of, "Oh my god best MMO ever" nonsense is the same thing I remember from every other high profile MMO. Or am I seriously the only person here who remembers the initial reactions to games like Age of Conan?

Best thing ever, mahn. The action is just rockin'. Three months later: Nuh, mahn it just ain't rockin' no more.

Sweet. The original Star Wars movies were created as a platform to make a 2011 video game possible. I knew it.

Must be awkward ripping a game a new one on the Bombcast then sitting down with one of its creators the day after to talk about the game.

Yeah. I was thinking this as well.

...well "LEAD WRITER." I recall Jeff kept saying the game sux but the writing is good! Slide that in there.

Having finished watching it does not seem awkward at all.

They bring up several negative issues they did on the Bombcast.

Guess we will be playing a lot of huttball (?), because I am pretty sure all the servers are sorely unbalanced in favor of the empire.

That dude has a perfect beard. But is it good enough to make me play his game?

loving all of these couch segments lately

Edited by Dberg

All this story/rpg talk makes me kind of want to try the game... but then it's still a star wars game AND a mmo, and you couldn't pay me to go back down that road. It sounds like it could have been awesome in a singleplayer though.

Posted by JustKamToo

Super interesting and very well done, more interviews like this please! Also how about a D&D table top endurance run?

@xyzygy: It looked like he pulled his keyfob out of his pocket and handed it to his right at the 1:30 mark. I am thinking he had someone move his car or something, because he was in the interview.

Really good interview. Felt he answered the questions very well. I was leaning on the negative side agreeing with Jeff from the bombcast, but Daniel explained things in a way that really made sense.

I wish Bioware had put this much thought and effort into Dragon Age 2.

Awkward interview. Just say it guys, SWTOR is fail. :)

It sounded from the Bombcast that Jeff played a ton of SWTOR over the weekend but isn't quite sure if he enjoyed it or not, which is better reception than I expected considering his expressed distaste for MMOs in general.

Ryan sounds like he's enjoying the game, though admits he enjoys MMOs during the launch window a lot more than at any other time.

Brad's having issues getting into it after having played WoW for so long.

As for myself, having pretty much avoided WoW completely SWTOR is pretty good so far.

Edited by Death_Unicorn

If only 'twere singleplayer.

Also, I hate how obvious they make it that they were trying to recreate Star Wars characters and events found in the movies in this video game. I wish they would use Star Wars a sandbox to create their own amazing thing, like they did with KotOR.

Of course, I haven't played it. These are assumptions based off interviews and trailers.

@Ghostiet: I bumped into him at PAX once. It was awesome.

Great interview.

That (*cough* Bethesda) Bioware guy was good but WOW this was one of the interviews that made me comment. I sort of (from twitter etc) know you're not big MMO guys at Giantbomb but you do this very ...BEST(?). Brad usually do the "heavy" interviews...

If one of my chums ever say "yea well giant bomb is all about production value and fast wins" i'll point them right here.

Thanks, effort/time very appreciated.

I might just give TOR a shot.

Posted by spookygiant

This interview makes me want to play this game. Not sure if I will but the story stuff definitely sounds good granted it is coming from the head-writer.

Jeff was like "I don't know he just keeps talking" off camera and Ryan was like "Now I'm going to awkwardly force you to get on topic"

Funny how the tone of this interview is VERY, VERY different to the tone they had when they talked about the very same game on the podcast.....
