A star was born.

Bemani was a big part of my gaming life for several years. A few of the series (Guitar Freaks, Drummania, Beatmania IIDX, Pop'n Music, etc.) are still going in arcades, but the home ports stopped several years back. I actually bought a Yamaha DTX drum kit (hundreds of dollars) solely to play the Drummania PS2 ports under the best possible circumstances since there were no arcades near me.

I still listen to the soundtracks from time to time, though. I always liked how so much of the music was done in-house and was more eclectic than the later license-heavy Western games like Guitar Hero.

@patrickklepek you may want to use your real mic for the audio and set your camera to manual focus so it doesn't constantly try to refocus during the video. also, some quick cuts instead of your reaching for the camera can go a long way

I remember importing the DBZ games for PS1 and using a toothpick to keep the thing open. You had to put in a US disc and once it stopped spinning you would swap them out but i don't think it was a Gameshark but it was the same concept device.

Nice videos, Patrick! I used to have the same bug in my head when I was growing up but never held on to it and filmed anything noteworthy. I really wish I had grown to love and embrace video editing instead of programming - haha!
