Other Guy From Clerks to Star in Point-and-Click Adventure Game

Wow another cool Jeff Anderson project.

I'm a little bummed out by how much this looks like Family Guy.

I didn't even think this would be on GB today.

Looks like Telltale is going to have some serious competition in the adventure games department

I'd really like this to be genuinely funny, but I didn't laugh once that entire time. Maybe it's not supposed to be funny.

Ah, Telltale don't make point and click adventure games like this anymore. Walking Dead was successful so they're still chasing that style of game. I don't mind, we still have Daedalic and Wadjet Eye to give us the older style, Wolf Among Us was pretty good though.

So is this officially sanctioned Clerks sphere or not? Theres a Jay and Silent Bob in there. I hope this isn't going to be a reference reel of 'gags,' from what they've shown in the trailer it looks just that.

And man, parts of that song really sounds like something from Silent Hill.

Hmmm tons of pop culture references can be a good and a bad thing. I'm going to hope it's good instead of bad in this case. Guess I'll just have to wait and see. Thanks for the update! =)

So, either this got Kevin Smith's approval (just for the similarities and cameos), or it got pitched to Smith, was turned down, and they decided to make it anyway in the hopes he wouldn't be a heartless copyright enforcer.

Man, they could really animate this a lot better with minimal effort.

As a fan of Jeff Anderson's I'll have to check this out. Not so much a Kevin Smith fan any more but Jeff was always my favorite of his crew.

In addition to the cameo from Jay and Silent Bob, I noticed there's a sign for SNK Video that is the same font as the RST Video that Randal Graves worked at in Clerks. And this Randal's last name is Hicks like Dante's.

Really disappointed that this doesn't look like the Clerks cartoon.

Smith and Anderson are very good buddies. I doubt he cares at all. I would imagine he actually like the idea that the character is called Randall Hicks (which is a combo of Dante and Randall's names from clerks)

I just hope the low frames in animation is an intentional homage to the 90s.

I can see this game being the terribly bad kind of "trying to be funny", much like a lot of other Daedalic games.

This looks fine, but I have little faith in Daedelic adventure games so we'll have to wait and see. It could be fine.

This really just makes me want an adventure game based on Clerks: The Animated Series...

Like some one else pointed out, this looks more like Family Guy than Clerks The Cartoon (or Animation, can't remember), which I guess means less off-kilter, out-of-nowhere craziness and more drab pop-culture references.

What a weird thing.

I know this is a joke, but Daedalic (next to Wadjet Eye) are probably the biggest name in modern point'n'click adventure games. Telltale's last four or so games weren't even really adventure games, they were closer to visual novels or whatever. Not that I mind, I really liked Walking Dead Season One and Wolf Among Us.

I'm not sure if you mean the overreliance on pop-culture references or the art style. But it definitely reminds me a lot of it. (and those Penny Arcade games)

I've tried a few times to get into point and click adventure games but they always end up being tedious in one way or another. Broken Age is pretty good though.

I'm curious why this is the game he's doing. They must have contacted him and used all the right sweet words. Come to think of it, though, Kevin Smith would do well to throw a little money at a Clerks adventure game proper, sans pop culture references.

Love that guy but I don't know about this. I feel like anything related to the View-Askewniverse is better off in my memories.

Poor guy... he was great in Clerks, but this game doesn't seem very well-written.

This game looks like hot garbage, which sucks, since the Clerks cartoon is one of the best animated series of all time. I mean, I know it's not like the creators of that are involved or anything, but it does invite comparisons.

Ah, man. I love Clerks, so I'd love this to be great, but it just looks trash; bad artwork, bad animation, bad dialogue full of movie quotes. It's Jeff Anderson's Family Guy!

A lot of the movies still resonate today, in my opinion. I watched Chasing Amy for the first time a couple of years ago and I adored it. I really liked Dogma too.

Randal was better than Dante for me.

Randal was better than Dante for everyone. He had all the funny lines and his outlook was what audiences identified with.

When will they learn to keep pop culture crap out of stuff? Yeah you can reference stuff, congrats?

I like Clerks a lot (I also like Clerks 2) and the other movies in that series/universe, but this doesn't look very funny...

Well, it's good to see Jeff Anderson keeping busy, I guess.

This isn't going to be a masterpiece, but, from what I see here, it seems oddly charming. Don't expect Monkey Island. Just imagine that someone was put in a coma in 1997, woke up in 2014, and made a point and click adventure game. Hopefully, buzz about this gives us a better chance at a "Clerks: The Animated Series" game.

I finally realized what I hate about that art style, its the eyelids. But ya good to see Jeff Anderson doing stuff.

I thought that "15 minutes later" interstitial was leading to a shot of Jeff Anderson drinking hobo wine in the alley behind the recording studio...

But I wish him all the best! The Clerks animated series was fantastic.
