Other Guy From Clerks to Star in Point-and-Click Adventure Game

Well, despite some people being pretty down on this I am totally ready to play this.

Man that was depressing. This just looks really disappointing...

Hm this doesn't look so hot. Just rattling off pop culture references without any real punchlines is really lazy. Even though I just did it before. But shut up. I dunno, somebody will probably get a kick out of identifying all the references, but that's not really for me-MANNY CALAVERA HEAD ON THE SHELF IN THE PSYCHIATRIST'S OFFICE!

Also, is he recording his VO with a headset mic?

So much MEH.

Was trying to go in optimistic, but this was kind of a bummer to watch. I mean, I can hope the reference's play better in context rather than being put out on display like in this trailer, but the rest of the humor seems pretty flat. Like that honeymoon bit, it's just terrible.

Hopefully Vinny covers it so we can get a better impression of it.

He's 44 years old and Clerks is 20. Yooooo.

Seriously, this game looks fine for something that we're just finding out about that will be out pretty soon, AND is a studio's first game. It will also likely be 15 bucks or less. Why gamers have to be so goddamned negative and snarky about everything is a mystery to me. It's just depressing and makes me reluctant to identify as a gamer at all. All this negativity among gamers has got to stop. It's bizarre how a hobby based around having fun is so down on almost everything all the time.

Just when I thought pop-culture humour couldn't get lazier than Seth MacFarlane...

Overt pop culture references are a smack in the face. The Lutece twins in the background of a fair in My Little Pony is the way to do it.

Exactly. +1 for awesomely saying that. I'm always struck by the amount of time people spend finding and then commenting about all the things they don't like, it seems to we would all be better off spending that time writing about the things we do like.

What is with this compulsion to attempt to let the rest of the world know what video games you won't be buying? So you think this game looks "meh" or you didn't laugh once in the whole video, sit with that for a minute and recognize this game probably isn't for you. Now recognize that no one else out there cares about that opinion besides you. No one woke up today wondering exactly what poorly expressed thoughts you had about the trailer for this game. Literally no one. Do a better job finding something that you actually do like and maybe, just maybe those people will be interested in what you have to say if you comment. Even if they don't, it's proven that if you spend your time thinking about things you enjoy rather than focusing on the things you hate you'll have a happier life. Who knows, f you can accomplish that, maybe you'll be able to find a little bit of humor in a silly indie game trailer every now and then. Even if you can't, it might at least give you a slight amount of self control to keep from yourself from commenting on everything you happen to see on the internet that you mildly dislike.

I suppose it's a little bit on me. I actually expected to read something relevant, insightful or even remotely interesting by going through the comments. Instead I've just determined that every website benefits from the Firefox add-on CommentBlocker.

Took me a second to remember who Randall from Clerks is. Looks like this could be a potentially good game from an unknown studio.

AWESOME POP CULTURE REFERENCES

I've seen a lot of negative comments but I just wanted to point out that it is mostly impossible to make a good trailer for a point and click adventure game.

You're basically getting the punchlines without any of the conversation leading up to it.

I legitimately laughed at the carl winslow bit, but thats it.

the art style in this game is like...a garbage version of family guy...which..isn't great to start with. The copy and paste nature of the animation feels cheap and ripped off, as if nobody is actually speaking to each other, just animation looping in front of each other.

I forget Clerks II came out eight years ago.

@royalewifcheese: Yeah, actually 8 years seems short compared to how poorly I remember it. It's less than a blur, it's a blackout.

The last thing I remember is walking into the theater angry at Kevin Smith.

Next thing I know I'm in love with Rosario Dawson.

Hmm interesting. The art and animation look pretty bad though.

Excited to play this.

The dialogue is very slowly paced. I mean real slow. I wonder if that will impact any comedic delivery (it will).
Though some of it seems charming enough. I'll give it a run once it's out.

Well, this looks terrible, but I do enjoy Jeff Anderson, so I'll be looking forward to the Quick Look, at least.

I think I've had enough of this already. That soundtrack is horrible.

His voice is so great but the acting is generic and sad.
