Well that's pretty disappointing...

Posted by TechDJ

Ummmmmm......Riddick....is that you?

Edited by Confirm4Crit

I can't tell if it's turn based, or just incredibly poorly animated.

No words.

hahaha cell shaded vin diesel

Posted by Fistfulofmetal

FYI This isn't the game Vin Diesel was talking about when he said he was "reassembling the Starbreeze team".

Posted by NedsHead

This looks awful

Posted by TurboMan

oh...

Posted by Mr_Creeper

"I know! We'll just show the exact same punch attack over and over again! That'll sell this game!"

Posted by Vitor

The new movie was surprisingly decent.

This? Not so much.

Are you sure? Where did you read that?

All they really need to do is make an Oculus Rift-compatible game where you go into some prison and have a dude shine your eyes. Boom. That's million bucks.

In the ScreenCrush interview he's asked about the video game franchise and Vin says "Funny you should mention that, we have a Riddick app..." and then afterword says "But for the die-hard gamers..." and goes on to talk about getting together the Starbreeze team for a future game. I believe that game was the MMO thing he's been wanting to do with Riddick. It's pretty clear from the interview he's talking about two different project. This being the app that is available soon or now or whatever, and the future Riddick game he wants to make with the "Starbreeze team"

Posted by OneKillWonder_

There's absolutely no way in hell that THIS is the new game they've been talking about...right? I mean...come on.

Posted by PlasmaUK

The art style reminds me of Shank (For the 2D parts anyway).

Posted by Triumvir

I suppose I never really expected anything, but this is very much not what I wanted from another Riddick game.

Posted by Rodin

this looks pretty bad, cant say i have high expectations, also that is a terrible name.

oh snap, misdirected cynicism by the scoopsdawg

Yup.

Also, to everyone who thinks that a Riddick game sounds like a joke, "Escape From Butcher Bay" is the best game based on a movie ever made, it is outstanding and you should play it.

Posted by MisterSamMan

Are they hitting each other with fish? Why do the punches sound so weak?

It's not based on a movie, it's based on the main character of a movie, and as much as I like Butcher Bay, that title still belongs to the Mega Drive version of Aladdin, as far as I'm concerned.

Sounded more like fact checking to me...

Man, for a second there, I was expecting Shank with a Riddick re-skin. Not that I particularly want that game either though...

Edited by MeatSim

Well i hope this isn't the only new Riddick game.

This. Surely there is an actual game coming out because this looks like hot street trash.

Maybe I'm just a fanboy, but I'd like to see how this turns out.

Edited by DJ_EuroGhost

First I was all like, is this a Klei game?

Then I was all like huh, this game looks like shit.

Then I saw the App store logo and everything made sense.

Man he seems like such a likable dude. His passion for Riddick gets me every time. I think that's a big part of why that character and franchise continues to intrigue me more than I feel it should. Or maybe it's just because the alien design in the original Pitch Black is up with the best of the best :P

As far as the app goes, who knows. What makes most apps fun or not can be hard to capture in a trailer.

Posted by Cold_Wolven

Oh for IOS, so not a proper game then.

Edited by DJJoeJoe

Yea... take one of the few movie properties that was fortunate enough to have a great game made from it and then go ahead and make a fuckin' phone game... good move.

Posted by Sammo21

Oh its a mobile game? Yeah, I'm never going to play that.

Edited by Cuuniyevo

Am I the only one really put off by the first shot of Riddick out in the open, with full sunlight, not wearing his goggles? Wouldn't he be completely blinded?

It's also the same interview he wrote an article about, but apparently didn't bother paying much attention to.

@noelveiga : SNES Aladdin is so much better that I have no idea why people cling to the Genesis version. Sure, it had better animation and music but the platforming in it was kinda garbage and the camera was a disaster. I played both versions recently and didn't bother completing the Genesis one.

no dog and no dialog?

Edited by pornstorestiffi

At first i was thinking oh its Mark of the Ninja with Riddick, which i would totally play, but then the mediocrity started, and i puked. So thanks for that Patrick.

There was a PAX panel about this, Jared Rea helped run it. Presuming that came together, at least?

nope not in for this one

Edited by Chuncho_Munos

I would play a tight playing desktop version of this with better visuals for sure, butcher bay engine and even levels in 3rd person would be cool at a low price, not on a phone though.
