Pandora's Tower Proves Someone Hasn't Given Up on Wii

The dungeons in this were a ton of fun. Despite hating time limits, it was handled well in this game.

The character interactions were sometimes a bit... awkward.

I'll buy this one, Xseed, but unless I hear some news on Trails in the Sky soon, you and I are finished.

Grats to Operation Rainfall, I doubted them at the first like many of people. They somehow convinced Nintendo to do something that they didnt already decide to do. Its really crazy.

There are plenty of people who don't give up on previous formats the second a new one comes along. I still buy and play Wii, PS2, PSP and DS games along with the current generation. Not everyone is obsessed by frame rates and TressFX!

I still have to beat Last Story. I have not even touched Xenoblade.

I don't really care for the Wii anymore but I'm still not sure how I feel about the negative slant of that headline.

Hopefully this one is worth it as well. Xenoblade was pretty good but I hated The Last Story.

This was slated for the end of March but it seems to have slipped. A bit sad as I was looking forward to buying it, but it's okay as I've already waited this long.

I'm excited to get this game if only to complete the Rainfall. From what I've read, the game is more interesting than great and that's fine with me. Also, the $39.99 price point is nice.

I bought this ages ago and I loved what I played. I didn't finish it at the time but I intend to at some point.

From what people think this isn't a strict JRPG, it's more of a third person action game. Gamespot UK review (from when it came out here 11 months ago, sorry America) -

This is probably the last "core" Wii game, kind of sad.

Is that scene of her being topless in bed so essential to the story that it had to be in the trailer? Or are they hoping to get a few more sales with the potential for anime boobs?

I really liked this game, it's got some interesting, crazy, "Oh Japan!" stuff. The girl is weird even when she's being normal, which gets a bit irritating. It's not an RPG, but a fantasy action game with a cool whip mechanic and a crafting system, which means farming ingredients if you want the best equipment. Some of the textures have that look of someone trying to cram too much detail into too low a resolution, so they are often grainy and indistinct. There's more than one ending, but not much else to offer re-playability, and it's not a long game. I'd give it a 3/5

I've had this game for months and not played it simply because it's on the Wii. I value a social presence too much (XBL party system, et al.) to plug it in.

I keep hearing both awesome and dreadful things about both this and The Last Story. Definitely not a consensus on the matter, but I'll probably end up with both sometime down the line. I was a strong supporter of "Operation Rainfall", though I only wanted Xenoblade (which I thought was genuinely fantastic).

Though these games are more than likely to become rare as well if you don't buy them now. Xenoblade sells for more than retail on most places last I checked.

I really wanted to like Xenoblade and Last Story... really I did. But I just don't enjoy "action RPG" as much as I used to. I'm still longing for a good turn-based RPG... haven't played one of those in ages.

I think I'll have to give this one a pass. Shame... I like giving XSEED my support.

Xenoblade became one of my favorite games. Last Story didn't quite measure up and this one just sounds a bit.. odd.

Still, good on everyone involved in getting this set of games released.

I played through Xenoblade and mostly loved it, despite the filler quests, but all I could think playing it (and seeing this trailer) is how much I wish these games were designed for the 360 or PS3. They gain nothing by being on the Wii and even as someone who isn't that big a graphics whore, it's hard playing them on an HDTV in SD with the obvious limitations of the system.

Being on the Wii is what allows them to exist. Developing JRPG's for modern consoles is hella expensive.

Sounds like Xenoblade was the better of the 3 (Seen how Last Story plays and it very weird while Pandora's Tower a little better).

Wow guys, give it a rest. We know that nobody likes the Wii, there's always a ton of dust on it and SD-graphics don't look too hot on HDTVs. We know. Let's just move on, okay? Back to jammering about all the other Nintendo things.

I still got The Last Story & Xenoblade to play through, which I'm really excited for but waiting to when I have a lot of time put aside for them. This game seems to be the least good among the three from what I've gathered from reviews and fan reactions, but it also seems to be the weirdest. I also want to complete the O.R. Trilogy.

People saying it seems really weird, it's really not at all. It's basically a Zelda game without any of the in-between sections cut out, just 13 dungeons, one after the other. I really enjoyed it.

I'm getting a real Shadow of the Colossus vibe from this, which is a very good thing!

Yeah, I did too, when I first read up on it; it's much more like Zelda than SotC, though.

Really excited for this one.

Not really. They don't have to make a game that has to compete with the likes of FFXIII graphically. Its called putting out a budget title, like Deadly Premonition. I suspect it wouldn't cost all that much more(if at all) to put it out on 360.

If you wanted it to look exactly the same sure, but he was complaining about the graphics. There's something to be said for being a good looking wii game rather than a poor looking 360 game.

It would look better by the fact that both 360 and PS3 upscale so it would look better no matter if they did anything extra or not. The fact that Wii's max resolution is 480ps makes it look even worse on modern LCDs.
