This game looks great and all but that furry-fairy creeps me out.

This was an awesome interview. Why did it go up so late?

Tanned Brad needs moar tan

Posted by m2cks

Awesome- can't wait to actually play it!

This dude seems awesome. It looks very controller driver which is a bit of a shame, would have loved to give him some money for a PC version or something.

16 hours a day. There's some self discipline if I've ever heard it.

The game looks great.

Posted by BeachThunder

I can't say I have any interest in the game, but props to Dean Dodrill for being able to pull this off all by himself. Always fascinating to see 'one-man bands'.

Also, Jazz Jackrabbit :D

Dude seems just like an average guy who wanted to learn.

Posted by namesonkel

Dat scruff.

Posted by kennybaese

As someone who knows just enough about programming to know how hard it is, that guy is completely out of his mind doing all of that by himself. The fact that it looks as good as it does it kind of mind blowing. To me at least.

Posted by GalacticGravy

Inspiring.

Posted by Seedofpower

Haha man, you guys finally got around to posting this?

Posted by kollay

I've been sitting on my MS points just for this game...

Can't wait.

That's hardly an issue these days, what with the ease of plugging in a wired xbox 360 controller.

This game reminds me a little bit of Odin Sphere, if anyone here has played that.

I've recently been looking into tools to try and mess around with making a game (just out of curiosity to see what it's like), and even visually driven programs like Stencyl make game development seem impossible (after 2 tutorials I've kinda been scared off). It's incredible he was able to make something so competent (and good) looking with no experience.

...I feel like I just slipped into a time portal. I had already forgotten that PAX East existed. :)

Posted by skyewright

it looks cool. i hope his 4 years of work pay off or at least let him break even.

btw, nice skyward zoom action to finish the vid

So effin excited about this, a little late posting this but still, can't wait

True, just hope that it comes out for pc.

@Twinsun: Yeah I've got Odin Sphere ... really wanted to love that game, and it had a lot going for it, but I couldn't stick with it for that long.

This drew immediate comparisons to that in my mind though, yeah. Looking forward to it.

it's amazing what you can learn.

No, it's amazing what that guy can learn, he's a pretty humble guy.

Posted by paulwade1984

What an awesome guy. He gives off good vibes.

Posted by IronScimitar

God bless this man for having number pop up and cash fly out when u bash enemies. He know EXACTLY what I want out of beat-em-up games. <3

Posted by RazielCuts

When was PAX again?

Posted by SpecDotSign

Couldn't be a more nice and humble dude. That's awesome. Been following this game since it was first shown. Hopefully a PC version gets released.

A 2D melee brawler looks very controller driven? You don't say. It's style of game intrinsically suited to being controlled with gamepads. Calling it a "shame" is kind of silly. It's like saying it's a shame that a flight sim is suited to being controlled with a flight stick.

You can always pick up a 360 pad for your PC, like every other PC gamer I know has done.

Posted by smiddy

The game looks great, both in terms of gameplay and art style, everything except the player character that is, it looks kind of out of place compared to everything else on screen.

Posted by SpicyRichter

Man, I bet that guy hasn't done anything besides make that game for the last 4 years. Not eat, not drink, not nothin. Amazing, but jeeze, 4 years of your life!

Posted by A_Dog

Ohhh! It's *tail* not tale.

Because you're an awesome dude, I.AM.GOING.TO.SUPPORT.YOU.

Posted by Alphazero

Wow, nicely done Dean. Looks amazing.

Posted by Humanity

Really amazing how good it looks just from a few glances considering it's literally just this one guy. Also apart from the difficulty of doing all the work yourself I can imagine how extremely satisfying it must be to work on something and have 100% creative control over every decision.

Posted by notdavid

Dat animation...

Posted by CoolYetiDance

Whoa that's impressive :O!

Posted by Maajin

Nothing but respect for this game and for Dean.

Hate the character design though. I'm finding really hard like those kinds of furry-fodder characters.

Posted by SaturdayNightSpecials

Just can't get around the DeviantArt-ness of this.

What he did is very impressive though.

Posted by Shtinky

Brad's enthusiasm for game development, makes me wonder why he hasn't made the jump to the development side yet (something, many other game journalists have done).

Posted by SEBattleship

I was on board until I saw the furries.

Posted by Grilledcheez

High five Dean, high five

Posted by WilliamRLBaker

cant wait, I'm also sitting on my ms points for this game.

Posted by _Dust_

Eagerly anticipating this game! :D

Posted by CookieMonster

Looks unreal. Not sure about the character designs, but the game looks good enough for me to over look that.

Posted by Osaladin

Mad respect for Dean, and his game actually looks really good too!

Posted by flanker22

YEARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH DEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAN. good job man.

How do you make a game by yourself? Smarts, talent and ambition, that's all.
